i opened the double doors to the school gym and saw our basketball team taking a break on the bleachers. i walked up to one of them to see if i was allowed on for a bit.
"hey, could i use the courts? i'll literally be 5 minutes"
"ye take ya time don worry bout it"
he said drinking out of a plastic bottle. just as he turned away i held onto his arm to get his attention again.
"sorry, i didn't get your name?"
"why you need it?"
"well i gotta see who's representing my school, don't i?"
"call me dd."
"kay but whas yo real name"
"we ain't there yett"
i rolled my eyes laughing n started hooping.
ddot was sitting on the top bleachers of the school gym with jay. i didnt see him at first, which was why i went straight to dd.
dd walked back up the bleachers n sat next to ddot.
"yo yall see that girl hoopin ri now?"
he said pointing at me as i shot the ball into the hoop.
"y/n?"
dd asked.
"oh yk ha?"
"ye we coo"
jay turned off his phone n looked up at y/n on the courts.
"who's that?"jay asked.
"ddot's girlfriend"
dd teased hitting ddot in the arm with his elbow.
"she isn't my girlfriend."
"tell me you don't think she's bad."
"ye don liiie"
jay added.
dd n jay kept teasing ddot about me n him for the rest of the day. he tried acting annoyed but i think they could tell he liked it.
