Victoria

Anger.

That's all Victoria felt as she maneuvered herself through the crowd. She had known something like this would happen, that Rose would leave her again to fend for herself in a strange place. She couldn't count the times her best friend had abandoned her but chose to come along against her better judgment.

Victoria lost hope in trying to find her tonight and placed herself on one of the stools at the bar. Her phone had died a while back, so there was no way to reach Rose. She was drunk, her feet had begun to hurt, and she had this awful urge to cry.

"Something I can get you?" The bartender asked, walking over to where Victoria had sat down. He was a handsome man, with his dazzling green eyes and slicked-back blonde hair. She smiled a polite smile and shook her head which sent him to serve the next guest that had taken a seat next to her.

"What can I get for you, sir?" He asked.

"Bourbon," the stranger replied, his voice deep and husky capturing Victoria's attention.

She recognized that voice.

When she turned to face the stranger, she almost leaped out of her chair.

For a moment, she was frozen as if she couldn't believe he was here and then she quickly she averted her gaze, her face growing warm.

The bartender returned shortly with his drink, and Victoria could still feel his gaze, causing goosebumps to form all over her body. She had hoped he would not speak to her or acknowledge her presence, but unfortunately, that was not the case.
