Once the contracts were signed, William took her copy and placed them on the side of his desk.
Victoria closed her eyes, sucking in several calming breaths, telling herself she could do this.
This was a new beginning.
"Are there things in your past you would like to discuss with me now?" William suddenly asked, breaking her from her thoughts.
His question surprised her and not the question itself but how bold he was to ask. She didn't know how to answer him, and honestly, she wasn't ready to talk about James and what he did, so she stayed quiet.
