Forged from
dark disappointments,
roots that
burrow deep within
breathless, chalky earth,
thorn-sharp echoes
of a life that
went before,
competing with the
subtle promise of rebirth—I exist here,
in these empty,
hopeless caverns,
but for how long?
Surely there must be
more to this
than the threat of
all the things that may
go wrong.
