Kristopher Kestrel was considered a golden child in the small town of Monarca, California. He helped the community and was an activist to get what the public needed. He did everything he could to help the people and their community and participated in many school events. He was on everyone's good side and no one had a reason to resent him. It was no surprise then that his call sign would be "Angel" when he joined the "Monarca Tomcats" fire flight squadron in high school. His pilot skills were as good as his mindset. Racking up win after win, the squadron managed to get to 25th place in the American season, not bad considering the squadron only consisted of 3 F-14 Tomcats. Kristopher's F-14A was special, as it was retrofitted with smaller, more modern radar equipment that was small enough for the pilot to use, meaning a radar operator was no longer needed. The original radar equipment in the rear was removed, leaving only the seat. This also had the benefit of lightening the aircraft overall. Kristopher also was working on a salvaged AV-8B Harrier II the school acquired for a cheap price. It was virtually done by the time he died. Kristopher died when bailing out of his plane after colliding mid air with a rival school's F-16, town morale plummeted as fast as Kristopher's jet falling out of the sky. A massive eulogy was held shortly after and the school principal honored his name at his funeral by renaming the fire flight squadron the "Monarca Kestrels". Kristopher was very close with his teammates, and they understandably took his death the hardest. They firmly believed whoever took his place would have massive shoes to fill.
