Before the show

"Niall, I don't think I can go on there without crying to these songs that I have dedicated to him," Iris sobbed as she walked back and forth in her dressing room

"Yes, you can. You're beautiful, smart, strong. You have never been the one to give up," said Niall as he embraced Iris.

Iris let out all the tears as the tears stained Niall's shirt; he rubbed her back with his hand while the other was in her hair, pulling her close. She had her arms around his waist as she buried her face in his neck, most likely ruining her makeup, but that wasn't important to her.

"I just can't believe he did that to me, the one person I thought wouldn't hurt me," choked out Iris as she was still in Niall's embrace, not ready to let go

Niall was silent, just hearing her out at this point. Maybe she wouldn't be in this heartache if he hadn't brought them together or even encouraged a relationship between the two. He felt like he was the reason why his best friend of years was in tears in his arms.

"Hello, it's time for you to come up on stage now, Iris," said her manager through the dressing room.

"I'll be rooting for you, okay?" whispered Niall as he let her go from the embrace

Iris nodded as she sniffled. Some lady came into the dressing room and instantly sat Iris down on a chair as she started to fix up her makeup that was ruined.

The whole concert was filled with sorrow and sadness as Iris sang with such a bleak voice to these love-filled songs that were dedicated to a man she once loved to the fullest.
