The Hero that the World Needs (on Hold)

1: The Baby

      "Finn, I'll come for ya," were the last words of Martin Mertens had ever said to the little baby boy before he abandoned him at sea. Just to attack the Guardian to protect him.

It was awhile, but the little baby was washed up to a new land. A land called Ooo. He was managing to crawl already and so the baby crawled into a forest. His diaper was lost at sea, even his bread maker that his father left him, so he didn't go hungry atleast, ran out.

The baby then rolled into a large leaf and realized he was stuck. He then began to cry. Others walked by him ignoring the infants cries. Such as a mother bug and her child. Other wild animals walked by. The little baby continued to cry. Wishing someone would help him. Where was his dad Martin? His mother Minerva?

Meanwhile in another part of the forest. One of the residents of the land, Simon Petrikov was walking down the forest. It's still had been 10 years since his beloved Betty, his fiancé, sacrificed herself to Golb to save him and everyone in Ooo. She was a true hero. But he still blamed himself, because he was mad and had no memory of her. She was angry at him for not remembering. But once in Golb he then remembered since they were reversing. Her magic disappeared that Magic Man gave her. His memory returned.

But still, he was not himself still. He just wish he could see her again. Or atleast save her before Golb came.

Simon then stopped in his steps hearing a small cry. It was of a infant. He was surprised. A baby? In the woods of Ooo? He then went to look for this child. He finally came to a clearing, and found a little baby laying on the ground crying. Simon was in shock. His eyes widened seeing the small infant.

He walked over to him, "well hello there, little one," he then picked him up.

The baby continued to cry. Simon then cradled him in his arms and rocked the baby. He then sang a little tune that Marceline sang once. A young demon girl he once raised in his earlier life.

Soon the baby stopped crying and cooed happily to his singing. Simon smiled as he continued. Once he finished, the baby boy clapped happily to him. Simon then looked around to see if any humans were around. He didn't see anyone.

"Where are your parents, little one."

The baby stuffed his hand in his mouth and cooed. Simon looked at him concerned.

"How about I take care of you. Just until we can find your parents. They must be worried sick about you." He then started walking back to his home, when a great big bear came and whacked Simon causing the baby to fall out of his hands. "Kid! Uh...Baby!" Dang it! I will work on a name later!

The bear then growled and came towards the baby. The little infant grabbed a stick and whacked it on the snout. The bear then growled angrily at him.

"Leave him alone!" Simon yelled whacking two sticks to scare the bear. Also trying to make him look big.

Suddenly unexpectedly the bear grew itself bigger.

"Oh dear...," Simon panicked. He then picked up the baby and ran.

The baby giggled as the bear chased them.

"Don't ever run from a bear...Finn," Simon yelled, "but I am out of options!!!"

The bear growled and roared as it chased them in the woods. Once out Simon stopped himself at a edge of a cliff and gasped. "Oh no no no!!!"

He then turned behind and saw the giant bear before them.

"S-stand back!" He then grabbed a larger stick, "I'm warning ya!"

The bear then whacked it out of his hand.

"DON'T EAT US!"

Suddenly out of nowhere a young demon girl came and attacked the bear with her bass axe.

"Marceline?"

She slayed the bear right in the head and he collided down. The young demon girl smiled Turing to Simon and the baby. "Simon! You ok?"

"Yeah, I didn't even know you could do that." Simon gasped.

"Oh yeah, my dad taught me how to fight." Marceline said. She then noticed the baby, "who's that?"

"Oh...I just found him. He's all by himself out here, I will be raising him until I find his parents."

"Well, what are you gonna call him? Unless his parents don't come?"

"...," he then remembered the name he gave the little boy earlier, "Finn. I think I call you Finn. You like that?"

Finn then clapped his hands happily.

"Finn it is then," Simon chuckled.
