After sixteen hours of work shift, Wang Jun was finally on his way back home by using the commuter line, leaning the back of his head against the window so he could at least have a micro-sleep along the way.

However, the thoughts of his mother's well-being keep haunting him, causing him to stay awake. Also, the debt that his father had with Qin Chen made his head turned upside down.

Not to mention that it was the weekend, so the commuter line was fully packed, he had to stay vigilant for any pickpockets that might lurk amidst the crowd.

Suddenly, a notification from his smartphone rang aloud, an email from an unknown sender.

'Huh? I don't remember turning on the notification.' Wang Jun thought to himself, opening the email.

[From Seven Worlds. Ltd]

[Congratulations! You are selected as a Player for our newest VRMMORPG! Virtual Insanity!]

[You will get 1.000.000 Yuan for Signing Up today!]

Wang Jun didn't pay close attention due to his exhausted physique, however, when his brain caught up with his eyes, Wang Jun was shocked to death after he counted the zeros.

"ONE—!" Wang Jun covered his mouth in a flash. Making a Rufus inside the commuter line could be considered rude behavior, more about money, it's very taboo to talk about it in public places.

Intrigued, Wang Jun tapped the arrow button to read the next page and watched the short teaser.

[Virtual Insanity]

Wang Jun's interest was piqued after watching the trailer which looked very realistic, no different compared to the real world. Such graphic quality was to be expected when the game's developer used the cutting-edge game engine circa 2025.

Moreover, he also had some experience playing VRMMORPG, it should be easy for a youngster like him to play this genre, right?

All things considered, Wang Jun was also wary that this outrageous offer might just be a scam or someone who was bored enough to make an online prank.

Nevertheless, there's no harm in trying and grasping the opportunity rather than being sorry. This wasn't his first rodeo either. Matter of fact, he had nothing to lose anyway.

Determined, Wang Jun tapped the next button to follow the instruction.

[We will be waiting for your arrival at this address. XXX-XXX, New Hong Kong City. Feel free to come anytime.]

Without any further ado, Wang Jun scrolled through his Map App and found the address shortly. After he dropped at the next stop, Wang Jun was on his way towards the address.

He also prepared the folding knife that he secretly carried with him wherever he went in his pocket, just in case things went ugly. One can not be too sure about their safety in this city.

Before long, he had arrived at a private, two-story office, well-hidden amidst the jungle of skyscrapers in the central district.

The light was still on, although he was hesitant at first, Wang Jun encouraged himself to press the doorbell intercom.

"Yes?" A female voice answered the intercom.

"Is this Seven Worlds? Ltd? I came here after reading the email."

"Oh! You must be the Chosen One! Come on in! I have been waiting for you!"

The door unlocked automatically after the woman pressed the button on her keyboard.

Afterward, Wang Jun entered the office, there were no staff inside as if the building had been deserted.

"Turn left, my room is at the end of the corridor." The women gave him the instruction via the speakers which were integrated with the building.

Thus he entered the office room and found a young lady, perhaps a few years younger than him, sitting leisurely on her somewhat futuristic wheelchair to support her half-paralyzed body.

Her crimson eyes of hers looked at Wang Jun deeply, as if she was staring at his soul.

Her grayish long hair cascaded down onto her shoulder, covering her sizable bosoms, the tight black business suit emphasized her overall beauty.

The room itself was filled with dozens of monitors attached to the wall. Each screen displayed all kinds of running data.

Little did he know, the whole building itself was an actual quantum computer, which processes bits of data with a speed far exceeding the total number of atoms in the known universe.

'What in the flipping hell is happening here? A paralyzed young lady amidst shit tons of devices… Am I in The Matrix movie set or what?' Wang Jun couldn't help himself from running his gaze in every direction.

"Greetings, Master Wang Jun. You may call me Bai Ning, it's an honor to meet you. Please pardon me for showing my… pitiful state before."

"No, it's fine."

Bai Ning smiled, "Have seated, please."

"Finally… Someone is willing to come here of their own volition after months of searching for Chosen Ones. I am wondering, perhaps, if the money that I offered is too small for this era?"

'No ma'am… Anybody from a working-class community, people like myself would go nuts for that number. You are lucky that I have gone half insane, and even betting my life to come here!'

Wang Jun wants to give his remark, but in the end, his mentality as an employee wouldn't allow him to let his mouth run free.

"Anyway… since you have come all the way here from your work, I firmly believe that you already know the topic of our meeting, shall we proceed?

"Please do…" Wang Jun immediately seated himself upright like a recruit of a company.

"Right… let's put it very shortly, the world inside the Virtual Insanity needs one role that could not be filled by a random player. A Villain."

Wang Jun corked his eyebrows, "Me, a Villain?"

"Yes. But of course... it will come with the benefits and the cheat codes to counter the Heroes and the Protagonists!"
