hi, lovelies! this is a short and for the most part unedited story i wrote because i love the marauders and i love taylor swift. after some thinking (which i do too much of), i realized the parallels between jegulus/jily and the folklore love triangle. so this is the product of that. please read/skip to the end for content warnings and links!

i probably unintentionally put a lot of taylor swift references in here, so if you're a swiftie, try and catch them! feel free to burst out into song anytime. this is my story and my musical. also, i love how august and cardigan are so poetic and intricate and beautiful and yearning, meanwhile betty:

that's what i'm doing with this fic.
this story has a happy ending, for the most part, but james doesn't end up with regulus or lily because i hope we can all agree that's what should have happened in the real folklore triangle. there is brief endgame pandalily in this. it would have been awesome if taylor made it queer and augustine and betty went off to dump james and date each other, but i'm not doing that here since i'm not a big fan of regulily.
reg is asexual in this! asexuality as a whole doesn't get very much representation in the media, and i feel like it fits regulus well. it's only brought up once, but i promise it's there. he can also be read as demiromantic.
