The slight rattling coming from outside of my bedroom door was enough to get me out of bed, slightly afraid. I knew Hogwarts was the safest place on earth, but I still had no clue what kind of scenario awaited me outside of my door. I opened the door just a smidge and saw Merril, the sweet little house elf, setting up breakfast for me. I opened the door fully and went to the dining room area that was also part of the living room area.

"Good morning Merril,"

"Good morning Ms. Kettle. Merril made you some waffles and sliced some strawberries for you." She motioned for me to sit down and placed the food in front of me. "Would you like some Orange juice?"

"Yes please, you didn't have to do all of this for me Merril, but thank you." I smiled at her as I began eating.

"Of course Ms. Kettle. Merril has to go now. Here is your schedule for this summer. It's from Dumbledore Miss." and with a snap of her fingers, she was gone.

Summer Schedule:

I looked at the time to see that it was 7:30. I hurriedly finished my waffles and went to my room to change. Dumbledore told me that I didn't need to wear my robes until school actually started so I threw on Light wash jeans and a white V-neck. I applied light makeup and my Marc Jacobs perfume called Daisy. I checked the time once more to see that I had 5 minutes to get to class. I tried to remember where herbology was and probably looked insane trying to find it.

By some miracle, I had found it on time and was greeted by a plump middle aged woman. Professor Sprout. For the first class we spent time getting to know each other and getting to know the herbs in the greenhouse. I caught on quickly and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Once class was over, Professor Sprout led me to Charms where a short wizard with dark hair and glasses greeted us. Sprout handed me over and soon the lesson began.

The first day he taught me a levitation spell, Wingardium Leviosa. He was shocked, as was I, about how fast I caught on. I perfected it by the third try. He then had me practice it on several different objects and told me the history of the spell. As soon as it began, class had ended and Professor Flitwick took me to a Silver haired woman with yellow cat-like eyes.

This striking middle aged woman was Madame Hooch. We didn't fly at all that day but instead she taught me all about the broom and the history of quidditch, a famous wizarding sport.

After flying, I had about an hour to myself to eat lunch and do whatever I needed to do. I decided to have a grilled cheese sent up to my room as I read through the first potion in my potions book in order to get ahead. I had to admit the thought of potions interested me the most, so I wanted to excel as best as I could. The first potion was called Veritaserum, and was basically a truth potion. Anyone who would drink this potion would be forced to tell the truth.

After enjoying my grilled cheese and studying Veritaserum, I made my way to my Defense Against the Dark Arts (DADA) class. As soon as I walked in I was hit with a wall of potent cologne and hairspray. A blonde, confident looking professor welcomed me. I could tell he'd be a handful. He was Professor Lockhart, professional ladies man, or so he thought.

Most of the class consisted of him acting out and saying things like, "So... what brings you to Hogwarts? You need this class to protect that gorgeous body of yours.." And so on. I was thoroughly repulsed by the end of the lesson. I guess most 17 year olds liked being hit on by 30 year old guys, but not me.

Time for potions came around and for the first time that day, I was excited to leave a class. I made my way down to the dungeons and was hit by a cold blast of air with each step I took further into darkness. There was a dim light coming out of the last door on the right, so I followed the dimly lit path into the classroom. I made my way to the seat closest to the board and noticed a striking dark haired professor sitting at his desk. I wasn't sure if he noticed me so I cleared my throat.

"Be patient you imbecile." He snapped at me and I felt my face grow bright red and I lowered my head.

"Sorry professor. I just wasn't sure if you knew If I was here. I didn't want to frighten you." I said softly.

"Will you ever be quiet?! Can't you see I'm doing something. Be patient! You are taking away from my summer after all."

I sat in silence. Shocked at the rude things this man was saying. A few moments later, he looked up at me, causing me to turn bright red and look down. I couldn't help but notice his onyx eyes, I could still feel them glaring at me. He walked up to my desk and introduced himself before throwing us into the lesson.

"I will be your potions master. You may address me as professor Snape. Today we will be brewing Veritaserum..." He started talking about the history of the potion and it's effects. He motioned for me to stand up and walked over to a bunch of shelves with cauldrons. With a wave of his wand he sent a cauldron to my desk and then led me to the table where he had all of the ingredients prepared. He sent those to my desk as well. I followed him around as he got all of the necessary items to brew the potion and then told me to brew it with no further instruction. I flipped my book open to the potion and began brewing it.

I noticed Snape glancing up at me from time to time from where he sat at his desk. Once I was finished I notified him and he came to inspect it. "You have brewed Veritaserum properly. Well done. Now leave." I felt immensely proud of myself despite his harsh words. I walked out of the door and then turned to face him.

"Thank you professor. Like you said this is your summer break and I know you don't want to spend it teaching some stranger potions, you'd probably rather be at home with the family, but I would like you to know that it means the world to me. Thank you."

"I'll have you know that I have no family, however you are right in saying that I would rather be doing other things than teaching some stranger." And with a flick of his wand the door slammed in my face.

It was now time for dinner. I headed to the Great Hall as per Dumbledore's request and all of my professors were sitting at a table in the middle, waiting for me. Snape sat the farthest away from my spot at the end of the table, Dumbledore was at the other end, Lockhart was directly in front of me and the rest of the teachers sat around me. Dumbledore snapped his fingers and a feast appeared, my favorite food, Spaghetti Bolognese, appeared in front of me, as well as everyone else's favorite foods appearing in front of them. I couldn't help but notice the large plate of liver and onions that appeared in front of Professor Snape.

The professors all talked about how well I was doing, all but Snape who sat Silently next to Dumbledore and refused to make eye contact with me. Lockhart kept kicking my foot with his and winking at me, which seemed to go unnoticed by everybody. Everybody but Snape who was glaring at the blonde professor, probably for acting so unprofessional towards a student.
