Wax on, wax off

Aria walks to the front door and opens it when the doorbell rings. She jumps back when she sees Spencer Hastings standing at her door. "What are you doing here?!" She asks frightened. "I wanted to talk." Spencer says, stepping into the house and walking past the shorter girl. "Talk about what?! I know what I saw! And if you try anything, I'll have the cops here so fast-" "It's wax." Spencer interrupts. Aria stands there dumbfounded.

"What?" She asks. "It was a wax figure, not a dead body. I sculpt, not with clay, with wax." The tall brunette says. Aria thinks for a moment. "Why was everything gone when we got there and you acted like nothing was there?" She asks. "I was afraid...that you would all get the wrong idea. You all know my story...I didn't want it to happen again." Spencer says. "You know I didn't do it right?" She adds. "Do what?" Aria asks. "Kill my father."

"Who killed him?" Aria asks. Spencer stays silent for a moment. "My mom. She killed him...because she found out that he was sleeping with another woman...and she blamed me. She thought that if she told the cops it was me, that I was a troubled kid, that they wouldn't throw me in jail because I was only eight. I was sent to Radley....and she did nothing."

Aria sighs, should she believe her story? She does, for the fact that maybe she's telling the truth. She puts her hand on the girl's knee. "I'm so sorry." She says. "Don't be, you didn't know. You only know what they write in the papers." Spencer says. "No...I work at the police station, so I know from there." Aria tells her. Spencer nods. This is valuable information She thinks.

The front door opens and Mona walks in, looking at the two sitting next to each other. "Mona, what are you doing here?" Aria asks. "I live here Aria." Mona answers, putting her bag down on the floor and her keys on the hook while looking at Spencer. "I should go." The tall brunette says, getting up from the couch and walking past Mona to the door.

"Wait!" Aria calls. She writes something down on a sticky note and hands it to Spencer with a smile. The tall brunette nods without expression and leaves, glancing at Mona for a split second. She's gonna be a problem.

Mona looks at Aria with cold eyes. "How many times do I have to tell you-" "I think she's innocent." Aria says, earning a confused look by her friend. "And why do you all of a sudden think this? You practically were terrified of her and all convinced that she had a body in her apartment." "She said it was a wax figure, not a body. She had sculpting tools and buckets of wax in the bathroom" Aria explains. "And you believe that? What about the 'smell'?" Mona asks. "Old wax?" Mona shakes her head with a sigh and decides to drop the conversation.

"You need to be careful around her. Do not let her manipulate you. How did she find out where we live anyway?" Now that she thinks about it, how did Spencer know where she live? She did leave her purse in the tall brunettes's apartment for some time before retrieving it, but she didn't think Spencer was the nosey type. "I gave it to her while Ezra and I were helping her unpack," Aria lies. Mona gives her a look. "B**** at me about it later; I need to shower," The hazel eyed brunette says before leaving to her bedroom before Mona could reply.

Ezra cuts a slice of lemon pie, thinking about how he and Aria used to eat the desert together, when he hears papers drop outside his apartment door. Knowing it's his mail, he puts down the knife and cautiously steps out into the hall. As he bends down, someone walks by him to their apartment. He doesn't pay them any mind and stands up, until he hears someone unlock the door of the apartment next to him, 3C. He looks over and sees the tall brunette opening the door before look at him. She furrows her brows, the first bit of expression Ezra has seen from the girl. She goes into the apartment and closes the door faster than she opened it.

Ezra walks back into his apartment and closes the door, using all the locks from the welcome mat to the ceiling. He abandons the and walks over to his phone on the desk, unlocking it and going to his messages. He hasn't texted Aria since they broke up but hopes her number is the same. A quick text saying "She's back" gets delivered, but isn't read. He leaves the phone and goes back to his desert, thinking about Spencer as he shoves a fork in the pastry.

Spencer set up a plant on the window sill while putting together the apartment. She knew it would eventually die due to the newspapers blocking the sunlight, but she liked how it brought life into the dark space for now. As she stared at the drooping leaves, she heard keys unlock the door and the door open, closing in a hurry. "What is wrong with your neighbors?" She turned to face her twin sister. "What do you mean?" She asked. "Next door," She pointed in the direction of Ezra's apartment. "Staring at me, holding his mail." "Did he say anything to you?" Spencer asked, concerned on the inside but not showing on the outside.

"I wish he did; I'd have something to say about minding his own business," The twin said, then dropped a set of keys on the counter. "The storage unit is in mom's name so don't worry about that. Also, I'm not made of money so you've got a week until you gotta move that stuff out." "The wax should be ready by then, with the closed tight unit and summer heat," Spencer said. "Yeah I don't know the science behind turning human flesh into wax but I'll believe you. Good thing we're identical so it won't be strange when you show up to the storage unit after me. Am I done?" Spencer walked over to the counter and grabbed the keys, putting them into her pocket. "Yeah you're done, for now....thank you Alex." Alex looked at her sisters stoic face and nodded. "Yeah...no problem."

HELLO! I saw that some people still like this book and I like it too so I wanted to finish a half written draft of this chapter. I usually leave my books unfinished because I get bored with the story but I actually have this story planned out, it just depends on if I want to write it. My socials are Twitter/Instagram: cuberandall if you ever wanna ask me my plans for this book or others I haven't finished. Okay, bye!
