* This is in Oregon, Toketee Falls.

As we walk around the pack, I feel like someone is watching me. I dismiss the feeling as we walk. As we walk down the path, it seemed we went farther in the woods. The next thing I know we are at the base of a waterfall. Leo takes me to the water's edge.

"Amara, I know you have been through a lot and still trying to figure things out. But we have a problem at hand, " he is going to tell me to leave I know it. " The full moon is tonight and where your wolf is starting to come back I have a hunch that you are going to go into heat."

"You aren't making me leave?" I ask.

"Why would I do that? You are my mate and I'm not afraid of your past," he says taking his hand out of mine. Leo walks behind a tree and grabs a blanket and picnic basket.

"Amara you must be hungry after that walk; I have some sandwiches for lunch".

"What are we going to do after we eat?"

"I figured we would hang out till you got bored, or till we ran out of food, " Leo replies.

"What is this thing with the full moon tonight?" I ask.

"Well on every full moon before you are fully mated you go into heat. It is supposed to make it for you to grow closer with your mate. Tonight is going to be hell, to say the least, I will be there the entire time".

I look at him trying to see if he is lying about what he said is going to happen tonight, but as I look into his eyes I see that he is telling me the truth.

"Well at least you will be there for me while I feel like I am in hell, " I say sarcastically.

"That is true, would you like another sandwich?" As he grabs another half himself.

"No, I'm full. I think I'm going to put my feet in the water though, the water is so clear".

"Sounds good I will put the food back in the basket".

I walk to the edge of the pool of water and find a flat rock near the edge. I pull my socks off and roll my jeans as far as they go. The water is so cold and clear as I wade through the water. I turn towards the falls wishing it was warmer so I could swim out to the falls.

"Amara do you want to go for a swim?" Was he reading my mind or was it just that obvious.

"I would if it was warmer out, " turning towards him.

"Well we can still go swimming, " he says starting to take his shirt off.

"Why did you dress up if you were taking me to a waterfall?" as I try not to look at him. He is just in his boxers now.

"Well, I had to look good for you, even if we are in the middle of the woods. Also, I have to go to my office on our way back to the house". As he walks into the water. "Well would you like to join me?" he says smirking.

"Yeah, but you have to turn around, " as I move my hand in a circle.

Leo just stares at me, I put my hands on my hips showing him I'm not going to move till he turns around. He sighs and rolls his eyes as he turns around facing the waterfall. I take off my shirt and fold it nice, then the same with my pants. When I look up I see Leo looking at me, he notices my head move and quickly turns around.

"I saw that you know" as I get into the water. I'm about mid-thigh and goosebumps overtake my body as I stand there for a moment to get used to the water. When the water hits my claw mark it feels so refreshing having cold water on it. I slowly make my way over to Leo when the shock has worn off. He turns around as I am around chest-deep in the water. Leo pulls me close to him, the warmth of his body overtakes mine as I am pressed up against his chest.

"Hi," Leo looks down at me as I try and hide my cheeks that are turning red. "Don't turn away I love when your cheeks turn red, it means I affect you".

He keeps his hold to prove a point as I feel electricity goes through his hands as they are on my hips.

"Are you always this warm?" as I place a hand on his chest.

"Yes, it is part of being a wolf you are always warm. Once we figure out things you will always be warm too. Or you can always just hug me I'm ok with that too."

"Whatever," I say as I smack his chest.

"You want to under the waterfall?"

"Yes, I would love too."

"K told on. I will swim us over there, " I hold on to his back as he swims our way over.

Leo stops right in front of the waterfall and shifts me to his front as he treads water. I look up into his eyes I realize he is the only person that has truly cared about me besides my mother. He is the only one to stick next to me willingly my entire life. Even if I don't know what love looks like, I know I feel safe with Leo and I do not want to be without him ever again.

I move my hands up his neck pushing him towards me. When our lips touch it feels like this is the most right thing I have ever done. He makes me the happiest I have ever felt. His grip tightens on my waist as he fights for dominance of the kiss. I gladly give it to him, I pull back breathing heavily looking at him. His lips swollen and I feel my cheeks heat up again for the second time today.

"Amara, I have something to tell you. You don't have to say it back right now. I want you to say it when you want to." Leo says holding my face still so I don't look away from him.

"I Love you, Amara. You have been through so much as a person and that makes you strong and courageous. Also, you may not trust me yet but I am willing to earn that trust from you. I also want you to be able to go into the world and have full faith, that someone is not coming to get you and harm you. That you will always be loved in this pack and that I will always love you, Amara."

"Thank you, Leo, for everything you have done for me. I will try to be the best that I can be for you and myself." I say. I give him a quick kiss hoping it will help relay what I feel even if I'm not totally sure what that is. " Leo, can we head back? It is getting late and I don't feel all that well, now".

" Yeah we can head back, I will swim us to shore." I switch back to me holding onto his back as he swims us back to shore. Leo doesn't stop once at the shore and holds onto my legs and carries me out of the water. Leo carries me to my clothes and sets me down next to them.

"I will get the blanket for you can dry off some before putting your clothes back on."

As he walks to where the blanket and his clothes are I hear a noise in the distance the opposite direction of Leo. I hear another crack of a branch but closer this time. I turn back to see Leo nowhere to be seen.

Where did he go? He must be getting dressed. As I turn back I feel pressure to the back of my head and everything goes black.
