your pain is so familiar to me
it feels like home
your words make me want to run to you,
like we've known each other for a lifetime
i want to wrap my arms around you,
and tell you everything's going to be okay,
even if it's not.
that's what i wish anyone would do for me,
in all these years of screaming into the darkness,
never receiving the anticipated reply,
i want you to know that you are heard.
i am screaming back to you
and i hope you hear me.
