Motivation:I was looking for an interesting Murder mystery with Male-Escort-Falls-In-Love trope. But most of what I found had the "sexy jerk gets the innocent girl" storyline.
Aren't we tired of seeing the main character conquer her even when she says 'no'? It's so last century! Who wants to read about her swooning over essentially abusive behaviour? After all consent is something she* says/does not how he* thinks she* feels. *Genders interchangeable.
So this story is different. It gives both of them the power to conquer, and throws both into the struggle to restrain themselves when consent is revoked. Creating a sexy and steamy narrative without the moral cringe.
