12 - Blair

July

A knock on the door startled me. I got up from playing blocks on the living room floor with Ryder to answer it. When I opened the door, I only opened it enough to see who was on the other side and to my surprise Aiden was standing there in all his handsome glory. Seriously this man could be wearing a dress and still somehow be sexy as fuck. Granted he was in jeans and a Grunt Style T-shirt, but still.

"Hey." I said my voice probably going up a full octave. Aiden didn't know about Ryder. I didn't like telling people about him because the media already is in my life enough from just being a model. If I'm unsure about someone staying in my life they don't get to know about my son. I planned on telling Aiden at some point I just wasn't ready for that to be today. We only met a few weeks ago and although I see him and I becoming close, I don't know, I just wasn't prepared for him to run like most guys would. Not that I see us going anywhere or anything like that but even guy friends of mine have ghosted me for being a single mom.

"Hey, I'm heading to Ansley for dinner. Figured I'd pop over you know say hi. Invite you to join us obviously." He smiled hands in his pockets; I couldn't help but laugh.

"I'm actually a little busy tonight."

"Too busy to eat?" He eyed me suspiciously causing me to laugh again. This time when I laughed Ryder giggled and snuck between my legs.

"Dat?" He pointed to Aiden and I turned bright red.

"Yo, little man! I'm Aiden what's your name?" Aiden crouched down.

"Wryder Dames."

"It's nice to meet you Ryder James."

"Mommy waughing?" Ryder asked confused and Aiden's eyes snapped to mine but the look he was giving me was extremely soft.

"Yea she was, your mommy has a beautiful laugh, don't she?" Ryder nodded his head quickly.

"Den you come pway?" Ryder reached for Aiden's hand.

"Awe man I wish I could. I've got to have dinner with my sister Ansley." He actually looked disappointed.

"Yea buddy, he's busy tonight." I quickly got out still pretty dumbfounded.

"Sister? You sister is Ansy?" Aiden nodded. "I wike Ansy!! Mommy we go?!" Ryder was jumping up and down.

"Yea mommy we go?" Aiden looked up at me and smiled. I couldn't help but return that smile.

"Okay, okay, we will go." Ryder didn't wait for any other word he ran past Aiden still barefoot and in pajamas and started knocking on Ansley's door. Both Aiden and I laughed. Ansley opened the door.

"I thought I heard my favorite short man!" Ryder giggled giving Ansley a hug before pushing past into her apartment where Hayes and Hadlee were already playing. Aiden stood up and put out his hand so I slid mine into it.

"You could have told me you were a mom." He smiled.

"I don't want the judgment, and not many people know about him. I like it that way, less heartbreak for him." I shrugged.

"Understand completely. No judgement from my corner, promise." Aiden smiled and let go of my hand once we were inside Ansley's with the door shut. I walked over to her and he went over to Ryder, Hayes, and Hadlee. Ansley nodded her head toward Aiden.

"This the first time?"

"The first time a guy has been around Ryder since...yea. "

"Nervous?"

"Not really. It's not like your brother and I are anything but friends."

"Yet" She shot me a sneaky smile.
