{Mel's pov}

Strangely enough just as kaylee had said, nothing much has happened with the new recruits.

I trust her judgement as always but sometimes I feel as though I can sense them plotting against us.

I really don't want my prediction to come true this time but If it does I need to be prepared for the worst.

"Mel? Is something wrong? I can feel that there is something bothering you" my sister autumn had tapped my shoulder while I was spacing out

"Hm? No no I'm fine autumn so don't worry too much about it." I stood up smiling to show her everything was fine but I guess she didn't trust me all that much because she simply gave me a 'really?' Look.

"Fine. But If there is something on you mind you should voice your concerns." Autumn smiles back at me as she pat my back

I'd like to tell my twin the very thoughts that circle around my head but if it's really nothing then I'd have made her worried for nothing.

Later that day kaylee suggested we all train together, which is normal for us however today her attitude changed a bit.

I decided to keep quiet about it but I'll be sure to ask her about it later.

We trained as normal which involved us partnering up with someone but today instead of choosing autumn like I always do I decided to help James a bit.

"Hello." I smiled trying to look less serious "would you like to be partners today for the expedition? I usually pair with my sister but I think she could use a new partner today."

James seemed chill enough to not decline so asking him didn't really scare me a lot. "Oh? Sure I don't mind just don't get in my way." He said calmly

"Noted." I tried not to look annoyed as I grabbed my gun "now let's go on the expedition quickly. We're in charge of rations so try not to die while getting food alright?" I smiled

He squinted his eyes at me as he nods "alright." He grabbed his twin swords as we ran off outside the building and into the city "Hmm based off the signs it seems there should be a few rundown Gas stations nearby."

He looks at the rundown sign as he scrapes a bit of green dust "huh..." he takes the dust that is now on his finger and rubs it together "hm...it's zombie ash." He said as he grabs his water bottle and washed his two fingers.

What. The. Hell. Did he just pick up that dust with his bare fingers and not get affected? Any normal human would have turned by now. "Hey can I ask you something?" I asked him a bit suspicious

"If this is about me not turning I already know. And if you're looking for an answer I can't quite give it to you yet." He walked forward not even giving Me another chance to ask him another question

At this point he wasn't going to answer any more questions so I just let it go for now and continued to look for rations with him.

By the time we had finished and returned back, everyone was already there just waiting

"There you guys are" kaylee said coming to help us "let me take that. You guys took longer then I expected you to"

Autumn nods as she takes the other half "you guys were smooching out there right?" She joked as she laughed taking the food away
