Irteza's POV
.

I scowled looking at Rabiya chachi, i did not like what she was saying, i hated it even more when everyone else supported her.

One of Asif chacha's clients has shown interest in Arfa for his son. So, chacha informed the family to take a call.

"I don't think there is anything wrong in it, you can call them over the coming weekend" dadi said

"Coming weekend? Isn't it very soon?" Asif chacha said and i agreed with him

"Zara's marriage is fixed, i think we should fix arfa's also, she's older to zara" badi dadi said

Really? What kind of a logic it is

"Let them come, we shouldn't wait" papa said and i stopped myself from rolling my eyes.

I was sitting with my whole family, Rabiya chachi just told us about a marriage proposal for Arfa, the guy's family will come to meet her

I have never liked this concept, where the girls are decorated and presented as a showpiece, and i was really mad at my family for making my sister go through this stupid torture.

I tried raising my voice against it, but nobody is ready to listen to me, in fact i got scolding from badi dadi to not interfere when the elders are talking.

When i couldn't take it anymore, i got up and left from there, i made sure by my actions that everyone knows that I was not liking what they were planning for Arfa

I came to my room, Aleeza followed me

"Irteza" she called

"What?" I shouted in my annoyance, her face fell, I quickly realised that I was being wrong with her, I sighed deeply

"I didn't mean to shout at you, I'm just really upset about this whole marriage proposal thing" i said sitting on the couch

"But there is nothing for you to get mad at" she said and i narrowed my eyes at her

"Arfa is so important for me and i can't see how they are objectifying her"

"Nobody is doing anything wrong with her, you are just being too emotional right now" she said, i didn't like her words, so before i say something and regret later, i thought best thing would be to just get away from her

I got up and was about to walk away from there, but she held my hand and stopped me from leaving

"I'm still talking, where are you going?" She said, "getting marriage proposals is very normal for girls, and nobody is materilising her. Let the guy family come, it's going to be like a normal meet up"

She was trying to make me understand and feel ok with this stupid ritual of the society. I just stood quietly

"One thing I am really sure about, phuppo is not going to make any decision without asking Arfa, whatever she says everyone will agree to that" she explained
