Appreciating

I understood what lies behind knowing how to appreciate,
a person you didn't think you needed with whom you shared your journey,
an encounter that stays in your mind and apparently doesn't mean much,
a moment of serenity waiting to turn the day around and make it welcoming,
a trust based on being able to count on each other at all times,
a body that needs care and affection in order to survive the rules of society,
Yet only by appreciating did I understand the true essence of even the little things.
