Early in the next morning, Li Hehua just finished her morning routine when she heard a knock on the door, it was Cao Simei.

"Da jie, you're here." Li Hehua welcomed her in.

"I'm not late, right? I can't delay the sale of pastries."

"No, it still quite early. There's only few people in the market at this time, don't worry." Li Hehua poured a glass of water for  Cao Simei. "Da jie, have you eaten breakfast yet?"

"Cao Simei waved her hand,"I've eaten, don't bother. Let's go and sell the pastries. The market will be lively in a while."

Seeing her not wanting to rest for a while, Li Hehua didn't pursuade her anymore. She took out the prepared two basket of pastries and handed them to Cao Simei then they set off and gone to the market.

After these two basket of pastries were sold, Li Hehua thought of going to the little guy. She turned and walked towards the side of the market where meat is being sold.

Before, due to her lack of conditions, Li Hehua can only prepare pastries and snacks for the little guy. Although these things are delicious, they lacked nutrition and won't contribute anything good to the body. She never really had a chance to cook nutritious food for the little guy. But now that she has money, in addition to a place to live in, she can basically cook him some nutritious dishes after selling the pastries and go to Shangshui village to look for him.

After some thought, Li Hehua decided to make a nutritious soup for the little guy and settled with chinese yam goji and pork ribs soup. This soup is known for its effects in clearing deficiency heat, strengthening the intestines and stomach, and promoting spleen and stomach health. It is especially suitable for the elderly and children, considering the little one's weak digestive system.

Li Hehua bought a pound of pork ribs and then bought some goji berries and yam on the other side of the market. She carried this things to the cloth shop and take the clothing of the little guy.

The tables and chairs that she asked Carpenter Qian to make last time should also be ready and she can get them today. Li Hehua plans to go and see the little guy first and go to Lianhua Village to find Carpenter Qian to collect her things. However, she'll need to arrange someone to to transport this things.

Li Hehua vaguely remembered that there were people in town who specially droves a cart and transport things for others. It seems like there's such services near the intersection on the west side of town. Following the main street westward, she indeed spots several carts waiting by the roadside. She just doesn't know if they drive for people or for cargos.

Li Hehua was about to ask one when she saw a distinct donkey cart with a sign hanging outside that reads "Passengers and Cargos".

This cart was very different from the carts that she had seen in town. Other donkey carts were all pulling bare carts but this one pulls a carriages-like cart. It is very clean and comfortable that will indeed make people willing to choose and take this cart.

Li Hehua immediately decided to choose this cart and went to talk to the owner.

The owner was a man in hus twenties. He looks ordinary but his eyes are quite firm.

Li Hehua asked, "Can this cart be used to pull goods?" The cart owner nodded, "Yes, I wonder when do you want to pull the goods? My cart will take the villagers back to the village later then I can pull goods for you. Do you think this time is alright?"

Li Hehua don't need the tables and chairs until the afternoon so she agreed. "Alright, I'll have the cart this afternoon. I need to transport some tables and chairs from Lianhua Village. I wonder if there's a problem on your side?"

The owner responded, " There's no problem going to Lianhua, but when is the exact time? Where am I going to get the goods?"
Li Hehua will go and get the tables and chairs at about two o'clock in the afternoon, but people here don't know this way of telling the time. So she converted the hours jn mind and answered him,"The place is at Carpenter Qian's house and I'll go there by the middle of afternoon." She then asked the price, "Including me, there are four tables and sixteen chairs to transport. How much will it be for this trip?"

The owner thought for a moment and replied, "One trip will be sixty wen and ten wen needs to be paid as a deposit first. If this is fine with you, then we can proceed with the trasport."

Li Hehua felt that the price was not too expensive, so she quickly agreed, "That's fine, then I'll trouble you to make this trip." Then she took out ten wen of money and give it to him.

At this moment, a young woman's voice came to him, "Dashan, is this someone asking to transport goods?" The owner of the cart looked up at the woman walking by and his calm eyes instantly softened, "Yes, this lady asks me to go to Lianhua to pick up the goods. I have already agreed." The woman nodded and smiled at Li Hehua.

T/N: These two are cameos from the Peasant Make Up artist series. Li Mo and Song Dashan. I recommend reading their story too♥️

Li Hehua only felt that the woman in front of her had an indescribable elegance which made people feel very good, so she couldn't help but smile at her and then left.

Li Hehua went to Cao Simei with what she bought. Her pastries also had just sold out.

"Da jie, do you want to come with me and rest for a while before going home?"

Cao Simei hurriedly shook her head, "No, no, I have to go home as soon as possible. The children and your brother-in-law are already waiting for me to eat."

Li Hehua thought about it and didn't force it. She took the basket in Cao Simei's hand and said goodbye to her.

When she got home, Li Hehua took the ingredients she bought into the kitchen. She first peeled the yam and soak it with water for later use. She then ignite the stove and pour some water into the pot. Taking advantage of the time waiting for the water to boil, she chopped the purchased ribs into chunks. Once the water boils, she blanches the pork ribs briefly and rinses off any blood residue with clean water.

After handling the ingredients, Li Hehua put the ribs and yam into the pot, bringing it to boil in high heat. She then simmer it in low heat for half an hour. She added the wolfberries and cooked it for a while longer.

After the chinese yam goji and pork rib soup is cooked, fearing weight gain, Li Hehua refrains from eating. She only serves a portion of the soup for lunch, and the remaining soup is entirely stored in the purchased ceramic jars. After sealing the jar opening with a bowl covering, Li Hehua finds a thick piece of clothing and tightly wraps the jar before placing it in a basket. This helps in keeping the soup from cooling too quickly. By the time she reaches Shangshui Village, the temperature will be just right.

With little time to spare, Li Hehua hastily leaves with the soup, pastries, and clothes for the little guy and made her way to Shangshui Village.
