worms

The worm was slowly shrivelling and shrinking
After having come out through the
Long, wet night

The sidewalk was drying rapidly under the sun
And I saw the worm twitch with
Just a little life left

There was a long pause of consideration for
If this little life was worth saving
Or if he's just a worm

Then my eyes began to look around the concrete
Noticing more scattered worms
All drying up

And I moved on
