Chapter 20: Perrin Slate

Fire blazes in the side mirror as the smoking remnants of the diner vanishes over the tree line. And it occurs to me that when the sun set, there were three members of my family. Three breathing, healthy Slates.

But when dawn breaks in a few hours, crimson whisps invading the sky, that number will be two. Only two. 

All because I left him.

I left him.

I actually fucking left him...
