11 Danger In The Woods

As we get to the forest I turn to my mates with a big smile "I want to collect some fruit tree saplings for our garden" 

Mason returns the smile "I will get you as many trees as you want I'm very good at digging after all" He says wagging his tail full of excitement 

Me and my mates walk around the forest looking for saplings while enjoying the warm afternoon sun 'It will start getting hotter from here since we are almost in scorch season'

Just as me and Mason are uprooting a lychee tree sapling Tyson runs to my side glaring at something in the distance while pulling me into a protective embrace 

"Someone is watching us I'm not sure who they are or how long they have been their but they are powerful... We should go"  Tyson says in a serious voice 

As Mason hears this his ears perked up as he runs over to my side "Get on we are going home now" Mason says as he transforms into his wolf  and Tyson lifts me up on to Masons back

"Lets go" Tyson says as he also transforms Mason starts running at full speed and I almost loose my grip it is so fast as I look back to see Tyson in his deer form following behind

As we get home Mason transforms and immediately taking me inside as Tyson follows

"I dont think he wanted to hurt us. If he did we wouldn't have stood a chance I could feel he was much stronger then us" Tyson says looking on edge as if he is expecting an attack at any moment 

"He might just want to court you.. but if he had bad intentions" Mason takes a shaky breath "I'm not sure we could have protected you on our own" Mason says while holding back tears as he punches the ground in frustration 

Tyson walks over to me holding my hands in his "I dont want to push you but you need to take more mates with the pups it will be even harder to keep you safe and I feel we are not enough protection for you even right now" Tyson says with a frown 

I squeeze Tyson's hand and give him and Mason a small smile "We did already talk about it and I'm happy to take more mates but I'm just not sure who to take I dont want to take any random male" I say playing with the hem of my skirt trying not to feel too disheartened

"What about the fox king? He has already been courting you after all and you never denied his gifts" Mason said as he jumps up wagging his tail looking at me with expectant eyes

I giggle and pet Mason on the head as he leans into my hand "That is not a bad idea but are you sure he is actually courting me?" I say tilting my head with a confused expression 

Masons stares at me in confusion "You did not know he was courting you?" He tilts his head "But you know males never pay attention or give gifts to a female unless they are trying to win their favour" Mason says with a confident nod

I look to Tyson for a second opinion and when I got another nod I actually let myself think about it 'He is a king and has guards to keep us safe so I could take my time finding males that I know me and my family will get along with he is also really good looking and a cute fluffy fox at that' I nod to myself for a few times before sending a reassuring smile to my mates 

"If he is willing I will take him as a mate the healer should know for sure if he wants to court me as he was the one who delivered the gifts from the king so I will ask him tomorrow" I say with a determined nod as Mason and Tyson let out a sigh of relief

With that settled we decided to have dinner and call it a night 

The next morning I almost tackled the poor healer at the door 

Sanji the fox healer looks me over concerned "If your not feeling well it would be best if you stay in bed and get your mates to come get me. The fox king wouldn't like it if you ended up sick under my watch" He says with an almost pleading voice as he ushers me over to the bedroom

"May I check your pulse?" Sanji asks while looking me over for injury 

Most males wouldn't be allowed in my house unless I have accepted them as a mate but the healer is an exception 

I hold out my wrist  " You can take my pulse but I'm not unwell. I was just wondering if the fox king was courting me? I thought you would be the best person to ask" I say as he takes my pulse 

He releases my wrist and stands seemingly in thought for a moment "You and the pups are perfectly healthy" He says 

Then he coughs before adding "I am not sure why you was not aware but the fox king has been interested in you for a while now and if you ever decided to accept him I'm to guide to to the palace to meet with him"

I turn to Mason and Tyson who seem to already be getting ready for us to go out and giggle at their eagerness 'I dont know quite how to feel about how eager they are to send me off to another dude but I guess it is just their way of protecting me' 

"Lead the way" I say to Sanji as I take Tyson's hand ready to head out

Sanji leads us through the lower district into the inner district and then as we get to the noble district I'm met with a familiar face I see Mary chatting with some noble males while another female just a bit away seems to be getting very annoyed 

'From the way Mary acts I wouldn't be surprised if she is going around seducing other females mates'

I sigh thinking about how much trouble that girl is 'At least she eventually sleeps with Troy that poor boy waits almost a year before she is ready to commit' 

I almost hide myself behind Mason as we walk past in hopes she doesn't spot me and pull me into the fight that she seems to be about to get herself in

To my disappointment I hear her shouting my name as I reluctantly turn my head towards her

"Rose it is so nice to see you!" Mary says as she runs over to my side taking my free hand in hers with a big smile

Mary then tilts her head and turn's towards her peacock mate "But I'm surprised to see you here I thought commoners were not allowed to be in the noble district isn't that what you told me Braxton"

Braxton looks me over with a look of distaste "Rose and her mongrel's shouldn't be allowed here" He says with venom lacing his words before turning back to Mary with a sweet smile "Your so smart my love" He says with a sweet voice almost as if he turned into a different person

'I forgot what a horrible person Marys peacock prince was I guess because he grew up in luxury he can easily look down on others'

I hear Mason growling and spot Tyson glaring draggers at the peacock as I try my best to put on a smile "Mary it is nice to see you but I must be going I'm off to meet the fox king and dont worry I have an escort" I say as I gesture to Sanji who gives a polite nod

Mary looks at me in disbelief and I swear I saw a flash of a smirk on her face before she returns her sweet smile "In that case I will come with you as I'm a Saintess I'm allowed to come and go from the palace as I please" She says as she links my arm in hers and starts pulling me along in the direction of the palace 

Sanji looks a bit unnerved by the sudden addition "The fox king only asked for Rose so it might be better if she comes alone" He says with an uneasy tone

Aqua Marys merman was having none of this and lifted sanji up by the throat throwing him into a nearby stall glaring at the healer "If Mary wants to come someone as weak as you doesn't get to decide otherwise" He says with a smirk

I immediately go to help him up before being pulled back by Mary "He lost so you should just come with us to the palace it is not like he is strong enough for you to want to take him as a mate anyway" she says giving me her usual sweet smile as if not noticing the state her mate just put the fox kings healer in 

I sigh as I resign to my fate 'I mean its not like my mates would win against hers in a fight' 

As I'm walking away from Sanji I give Mason a knowing look and he immediately goes to help Sanji up as we walk to the palace together
