With their decision made to go to the authorities, Seren and Jen knew that they had to act fast. Every moment they spent in the mafia's crosshairs was a moment closer to disaster, and they couldn't afford to waste any more time.
Late one night, as they huddled together in their cramped apartment, Jen unveiled her plan for their escape.
"We can't stay here any longer," Jen declared, her voice firm. "We need to disappear, lay low until we can gather enough evidence to take down the mafia for good."
Seren nodded, her heart pounding with adrenaline at the thought of what lay ahead. "But where will we go? And how will we stay off the radar?"
Jen smiled grimly, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "I have a friend who owes me a favor. He can get us new identities, passports, everything we need to start over somewhere far away from here."
Seren's eyes widened in surprise, impressed by Jen's resourcefulness. "But what about our jobs, our lives? We can't just leave everything behind."
Jen reached out, gently taking Seren's hand in hers. "We'll figure it out together, Seren. Whatever happens, we'll face it together. That's all that matters."
