Chapter 1

The cruise left at dawn, leaving Charlotte no time to spare as she climbed into the cab. As the car pulled up, Elena , her bestfriend and Joseph Charlotte's brother stoud as she got out giving them hugs. They walked together onto the Dock and waited for the teaches to let them onto the cruise. As Charlotte and Elena sat down, Alex walked in with some other boys and hugged Joseph in a boyish way. Charlotte's heart began to flutter as she rolled her eyes at the sight of him.

Alex was an annoying boy according to Charlotte but he was Joseph's best friend. They all watched as they sailed off waving to the parents and random bypassers going by. The boat journey would be 3 days max if they were lucky. So what should we do , Charlotte smiled and Elena giggled. Sorry babe I think I'm going to hang out with Jo for now. Charlotte felt her heart slow and sadness fill her body but she smiled anyway.

She had always been second best to Joseph but she never thought she would be second best to him even when Elena was her best friend. Charlotte hid her small amount of pain behind her little smile. Soon they left , Elena and Joseph hand in hand the best couple in the whole school or atleast Charlotte thought so and most other people did too.

Alex sat opposite Charlotte. He watched her eyes as she looked across the waves the sun setting and a beautiful orange haze had now fallen on them. What do you want Tein, Charlotte removed her eyes from the water to glance at Alex. His blonde hair flowing in the breeze. Here ,he replied with a smirk, achieving an eye roll from Charlotte.

A protein brownie bar, she questioned , her blue eyes finding his. Yh let's split it, I'm starving. Charlotte shook her head slightly discussed to eat from motion sickness. Alex rolled his eyes , Come on Lotte. Charlotte took the bar . Don't call me that Tein, she stared at him. His green eyes competing with hers.

Alex smiled, he loved to irritate her. They sat there in peace, eating and watching the waves. We have to go to our rooms now, Alex says offering her his hand. She wafted it away, I don't need that, Charlotte says readying stand.

I don't know lotte you look a bit queasy, she rolled her eyes and stood up. Her legs gave out and she almost fell as Alex's hands wrapped around her waist. Come on then honey let's get you to your room.

That's still not my name, Charlotte stumbled to her room with Alex. Their height difference was quite significant , her head was at his shoulders. He unlocked the door to see Elena and Joseph making out. Charlotte removed Alex's hands from her waist as she shut the door.

Hey there you lovebirds, Alex laughed as he followed Charlotte to the kitchen. Charlotte you ok , Joseph asks almost getting up before she speaks stopping him. No I'm fine just motion sick nothing to fret about. There was a small amount of sarcasm in her voice but they brushed it off.

Elena went to grab a jumper sending Charlotte a smile. Alex started a conversation with Joseph as Charlotte grabbed some advill. I know man I'm so excited for this trip, Joseph continues as Alex tippes Charlotte's head back helping her take the pills. She grabbed a glass or water and slightly smiled before rolling her eyes and sitting next to Elena.

Joseph hugged Charlotte and kissed Elena goodbye while Alex's saloots as they leave.

I think you guys are so cute, Charlotte smiles as Elena curls up next to her. I know I think I love him. Elena giggles and Charlotte laughs , no shit sherlock.

Charlotte walks off into her room diving into the sheets and driving off. Her body becoming weightless in the sea of bed sheets and pillows.
