Chapter Ten: An Alliance Well Made

As they led me through the Lower-City, I can't help but get a growing feeling of over-awareness in my gut.

"What if they're trying to kill me?"

This thought crossed my mind countless times. I zoned out as my mind reeled with possible scenarios. "Hey, Erik, are you feeling good?" Galen questioned me, that same blasted happy tone in his voice.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine, sheesh...." I grumbled, sidestepping away from him. "Oh...." I could hear his voice drop considerably. I huffed and turned to face him. His face no longer showed happiness. ".... I'll just you alone then." I grunted at his behavior. "Straighten up, Galen." Darwin ordered, glaring at his shoulder at Galen and I.

"Y-Yes, sir!" I heard his voice quiver as he nodded quickly. There was something in his eyes, was it.... fear? I honestly didnt know. "Man up and let's get in the plane." God, did Darwin have glass in his shoe? Because he sure acted like it.

A gasped softly as I saw the plane Darwin was mentioning. It was incredible! It looked like any other plane I had saw before, but it three fan-like objects on the nose, right and left wing. But these weren't small fans, they were huge! They were bigger, an higher, than me.

I stood there, in awe of the iron beauty. My mind in a frozen state that I had never experienced before. "Stop your gawking and get in there." I groaned as Darwin slapped my back, a scoff in his voice. I growled and trudged to the plane

I glanced out of the widow as we flew through the Vergessene Stadt sky. It was gloomy and consistent thunder was plaguing the flight to the military base.

Suddenly, the plane shook with a fury I had never experienced. I gripped onto a cold handrail above me. "Darwin?! Did a bird hit the plane!" Galen exclaimed to Darwin, clumsy struggling to reach him.

"No, idiot!" Darwin hissed, his voice strained as he bickered with Galen. "Unless that bird was a piece of steel! It had to have been the nazis--" I didn't get it hear the rest of the conversation after that point because the Loading Dock door ripped open.

I gasped as the plane shook. "Hello." A sly voice greeted from the door, it sounded similar to the voice of the winged vampire hunter I had an encounter with weeks ago. Cargo and other miscellaneous items getting blown out of the plane. I jumped to feet and spun on a heel to see who it was.

"Y-You!" My voice quivered as I scanned the figure. He was tall, for more so than myself. He had shoulder length, white hair. His eyes were crystal blue, contrasting my brown eyes and his skin was skin pale in the storm. "Z-Zeus! Get of here!" I hissed, stomping up to him. I puffed myself up, I was tougher than him, even if I was shorter.

"Brother," he glared down at me, his voice becoming more caring and soft. "Please, I have no want to fight you. I beg of you to come with me peacefully. Legion has agreed to treat you reasonably--", "reasonably?!" I hissed, interrupting him. "If you don't remember right, Legion almost killed me!" Rage pumped through my body. Zeus was only being biased to Legion, he never thought of me.

"They only tried to kill you because you went haywire and started getting illusions about your past." I could hear no fight to stay calm in his voice. I scoffed, looking away. "What do you know?!" I spat, weakly pushing him away and stomping off. "Erik!" He called out my name, I ignored him as I heard his footsteps walking towards me.

"Brother, please.... Don't let this be difficult." he pleaded with me, his hand on my left shoulder. "Difficult?" I let out a strained chuckle, honestly I wasn't amused. "You haven't even seen me difficult." I smirked darkly and turned to him. I could see the unsettling in his eyes.

Darkness. I needed to summon Darkness. "You remember Darkness, right?" I smirked at him, my hands rubbing together. "Yes." He nodded, I could see his jaw straining tightly.

"Σκοτάδι, να απαλλαγούμε από τον Δία. Τώρα!(1)" At that, Darkness flew from the bottom of the plane and paralleled towards him. "Oh my Go--!" Darkness impaled him out of the plane, but I knew it wouldn't kill him, as the Legion bragged.

A loud gasp escaped my lips as Darkness screeched. His screech sounded pained, not happy. "Darkness!" I cried, stumbling to the door, laying on my stomach and peering off the edge. There was Darkness, fighting another creature. Humanoid and angelic in figure, this thing looked heavenly. Almost like Zeus had an angel on his side

It soared about using it's long wings and a huge, two-handed sword was in it's hands. "Darkness!" I screamed as the humanoid hit Darkness with it's sword, causing the shadow to cry out in pain.

"Zeus! Stop it! Make that thing stop hurting Darkness! I'll go with you! Just stop it!" I begged, desperate. Zeus looked at me, he seemed to be flying in the air. "Angel, ritorno.(2)" He commanded the humanoid and it absorbed into him.

Gasping, I ordered shakily. "Σκοτάδι, πάμε πίσω. Να επουλωθεί(3)." Darkness responded to my orders with a broken squeak and disappeared.

I rolled over on my back, my breathing heavy. Zeus flew above me, his tall figure made him looked silhouetted. "Erik, come on." He held out his hand for me to grab, after I did so, he pulled me up.

"Hey! What are you doing here?!" Galen's voice appeared almost out of thin air. "I'm here to talk my brother to Legion, the people who created us." Zeus answered him, looking at his face, I could he peace in his eyes. Galen didnt faze him too much. "But you are free to join." He added, grabbing my wrist.

"Can I?" I saw Galen and Darwin debate about this for about for about two or three minutes. "... Fine! Fine!" Darwin gave in, I could see his hands go up in the air. "... Don't come crawling back to me if you cut your finger!" He added, his voice sounded frustrated.

Galen trotted with a proud demeanor over to us, grinning. I saw Zeus grab Galen's wrist. "Let's go." he tightened his hands on our wrists and I was flown out of the plane.
