You're looking forward to hearing from me hon,
But you're not idle, you have options
And lots of them said, "baby you're no fun!"
Why you make them run? Why do you make them run for you?

It's not fair, you ruin it all with your pride
Your soul piercing eyes, and your smug smile
I'm here now, so I'll write you a love song
I'll make it as soppy and mushy as I can
I'm here hon, listen to my love song
It'll help you sleep at night, make you a little more vain (than you already are)

Sure I'll say how gorgeous you are, I'll talk about your smile
I'll list out all the shallow things you're better at than mine
Sing to you, you're perfect, you make my eyes shine
You're sugar, sweet, honey, meat, intoxicated on wine

You'll act frantic, for time being so fanatic
You'll act so modest and dazed, then you'll happily take me for granted

I'll write you a love song, I'll make it as soppy as can
I'd add the words "angel from heaven" and the innocence that you feign
I'll sing it to you good, baby
Won't be plain jane!

Background:

This one I wrote just in general. People taking people for granted and the artifice in "love". Or is it really love? But to be very precise, this poem says a lot about people who play people. If you're not interested in someone, don't play them. Tell them straight out if you don't have any feelings. As for people falling in love with jerks, no one's more important than yourself. Value yourself, value your happiness, be kind! ✌
