Harlequin Ichthyosis is a rare fetal disease that causes a newborn infant to die about a day out of the womb. The disease causes the baby to be born with a criss cross of red gashes all over their body, plate-like scales in between the deformed skin, and eyes that are solid red and bulge out of the skull.
