(Name) woke up to the sun shining in her eyes. She was alive still, which means Ben choose not to kill her in her sleep! (Name) checked her phone to see if Ben messaged her last night, she had saved his number earlier sometime yesterday. When she looked, there was nothing sent by Ben. (Name) felt bad, she should probably apologize to Ben. He was being really calm about her outburst up until she said screw it and left.

(Name) got up and made her way to Jake's room. To her surprise, he was already up and playing with his toys quietly. (Name) sat down next to him and grabbed one of his toys as she began playing with him.

"Hey, Jake?"

"Yeah?"

"Have you ever been in a fight with a friend and you don't know what to do afterwards?"

"Hmm... sometimes but mom use to tell me to apologize and when we did things were better!" Jake smiled at (Name).

"I see..."

"Did you get in a fight with a friend?" Jake stopped playing with his toys as he looked concerned for his sister.

"You could say that..." (Name) patted his head to reassure him. "Anyway, um Jake... how do you feel about mom and dad now?" There was no real good way to dodge that question, other than to not ask but (Name) really wanted to know. Jake sat quietly as he kept playing.

"I guess... I'm okay with them being gone... I know mom use to say that dying is a part of living... I'm still sad though but mom and dad wouldn't want me to be sad forever! They wouldn't want you to be sad forever either big sis! You're not still sad, right?!" (Name) began to laugh at the silliness of her little brother.

"No, I'm not going to be sad forever if that's what you meant. I'm still sad but also angry."

"But why?"

"Because..." (Name) hesitated. What was she supposed to say? Was she supposed to say, "I'm mad because the guy who killed our parents won't leave me alone. I'm also made because he keeps making me made."? That was something Jake was too young to understand.

"I'm just mad because I think it's my fault." (Name) said instead.

"But it's not." Jake furrowed his brows together, he didn't really understand why (Name) would say such a thing but he was trying to.

"Are you sure?" Jake didn't know what to say.

"I didn't call the police like mom would tell us."

"Oh... it's still not your fault though."

"What do you mean?"

"You know how in Batman the Joker does bad things?"

"Yeah?"

"Wel,l you didn't do what the Joker does!" Jake went back to playing with his toys. (Name) just sat there trying to understand what her brother meant. Her eyes widen, he's right. She didn't commit the crime but what her brother doesn't know is that she did commit a crime. She technically kidnapped and then tortured Ben, she was definitely in the wrong. Was the realization of it all the first step toward forgiveness?

(Name) got up and went back to her room. She grabbed her phone and opened her messages. To her surprise there was one message unopened, it was from Ben. (Name) opened it and it seemed to be a long apologie.

Ben: Hey (Name), I just wanted to apologize for upsetting you and for... you know... I know I don't deserve forgiveness and you're right, I did have a choice. If I could go back in time, I would stop myself but if I did that, I wouldn't have met your crazy ass. Oops, that's right, you're not "crazy". Cheesy? I know, but that's what I'm going for because that's the best. My point though, I'm sorry so I'll stop now before I mess up my apology and make you even madder. Text me if you want.

(Name) couldn't help but smile to herself. She decided she shouldn't leave him in the dark so she texted him back.

(Name): Thanks pixie brain but I should be saying sorry too. I shouldn't have lost it the way I did last night. You're right though about Jake. Sorry for losing it, I'm just trying to protect my lil bro.

(Name) debated on sending this message but found herself sending it anyway. It didn't take long for Ben to answer her.

Ben: Of all the names out there, pixie brain is what you pick?

Ben: Are we cool though?

(Name): As long as you're not planning on killing me, then we're cool.

Ben: I'll put away my weapons then.

(Name): I hope you're joking.

Ben: I am... ;)

Name: But you should know that I'm not going to forgive you just yet.

Ben: I know that I won't be able to get your forgiveness right away, but I'm going to work hard to get it.

(Name) read the message and sighed. She set her phone down as she climbed into bed, closing her eyes as she began to think. Her thoughts centered around Ben's determination for her forgiveness and she wondered whether or not she could really forgive him. (Name) knew that it would be hard for her to find forgiveness, but when she considers how she truly feels from last night's dinner, she wants to make an effort to forgive for this very strange relationship. Was this even a relationship? Is there even something more than enemies? Probably, more than likely there was and (Name) was determined to make an effort to try and forgive.

(Name) jumped up and grabbed her phone, quickly typing something out. She ran to get herself dressed and cleaned up. She was going to meet Ben at a coffee shop in town. She needed to talk to him in person in order to sort out the feelings she had inside of her. Once ready, (Name) runs downstairs, shouting a, "I'll be back," as she runs out the house.

(Name) reached the coffee shop. Panting as she opened the door, she spotted Ben already seated with two coffees. She couldn't help but smile at the sight of him already there.
