ANNABELLE

we've arrived at the dance and the first thing I see is all the girls who are definitely younger then me

from looking around I saw Mia from school, I waved at her but she looked at me and ignored me

music started playing and everyone started to dance in unison

"wanna dance?" My dad asked

"I don't know this dance" I say

"I do, just follow me" he says taking my hand

We walk out to the dance and started dancing  in sync with everyone else

I looked down at my feet to make sure I wasn't gonna step on his feet

"Just trust me and yourself" My dad says

I look at him and nod

We danced and I didn't mess it up to the best of my abilities

When the song was over everyone started to talk again

"Im gonna go get some punch" I say before walking towards the punch

I grabbed myself a cup and got some juice, I took a sip and I looked up to see Sasha, Ginger and Carmin at the end of the snack table

I set down my cup and walked over to them, they didn't notice me yet until I cleared my throat

They looked up at me. Ginger and Carmin faces was covered in disgust "what are you doing here?" Ginger asked

"I'm here with my dad" I say pointing at him

"That's your dad!?" Carmin asked

"Yeah" I nodded

"he's hot" carmin whispered

"We want nothing to do with you!" Sasha says

"Why, you guys were friendly when we first met" I say

"That was before we knew you were in a relationship with Jeremy Gilbert" Sasha says

"So you guys hate me because I'm with Jeremy?" I asked

"No, we can't be seen with you because you are connected to Jeremy Gilbert and that will completely ruin our popularity score" Ginger says

"Ok I'm sorry, I understand" I shrugged not wanting to ask any more question, I don't really care about their popularity score

It got quiet before I spoke up again

"Can I speak to Sasha alone?" I asked

"Leave us girls" Sasha says

Ginger and Carmin leaves in command

"What do you want to talk about?" She asked

"Did you see me fight those jocks?" I asked

"Yeah, almost the whole school saw" she says

"Yeah, I saw you" I say

She gives me a weird confused look

"I saw the way you looked when I made that jocks nose bleed, it was that look you make when you haven't drunken sweet blood in a hour or so" I say

"You know what I am?" She asked

I look at her and slightly open my mouth and let my fangs show before hiding them again

She grabbed my arm and dragged me out in the hallway

I snatched my arm back once we got into the hallway

"YOUR A VAMPIRE!" She says

"Shh" I hush her

"OH MY GOSH!, I thought i was the only one!" She says

"How long have you been one?" I asked

"5 months" she says

"What about you?" She asked

"3 years" I say

"You got to help me, I don't wanna be a vampire" she says

"As far as I know there is no cure" I say

"So I'm stuck like this?" She asked

"Yeah" I say

"But isn't all bad, there's some fun things" I say

"Like what?" She asked

"How about you come over my house and I'll tell you all about it" I say

"Yeah, give me your number" she says taking out her phone

"I don't have a phone" I say

"What person don't have a phone?" She asked

"I just never got one" I say

"Okay, just tell me the address and I'll save it in my notes" she says

I tell her my address and we discuss times before we walk back into the dance going our separate directions

"What was that about?" My dad asked

"Nothing" i say

A slow comes on and my dad and I decided we wanted to dance again

We started slow dancing

"Annabelle" he says

"Yeah?" I answered

"I heard you and Stefan talking yesterday about my parents yesterday" he says

"were you eavesdropping?" I asked

"Yes but that's not the point" he says

"I want to tell you, you remind me so much of my mom, you have the same gentle heart as her"

"dad, you have no idea how much that means to me" I say

He smiles at me

we danced and laughed the night away
