I had planned to give my daughter the snow globe for her sixth birthday. She died before I could do so. I have a faint memory of what might have been her voice. Of holding her in my arms. At the time the world relied mostly on electronic means of preserving memory, but after the Plague these all failed or were destroyed. The only printed photo I had of her faded away long ago. The snow globe remains; the only evidence that she ever existed.
