As the darkness began to shroud me a glimer of light flashed through the cockpit. It was too dim to be flak. Too bright to be the sun. It was the moon of our earth. But soon the light was gone and thus we returned to the frozen abiss of fear.

Reawakening for what must have been the eigth time, I noticed again there was a shining light that illuminated our spirits, vanquishing some of the terror of what lied ahead.

"Gentlemen, the time has come." Said a voice from further down in th belly of this beastly machine which encased us.

My ears pricked up at this, my body and mind becoming more alert, my heart pumping at a rate that got faster by the second. Pulling my hands to make them meet in my lap. I was shaking, not only from the harsh conditions which I was victim to...

Fear had overwhelmed me.
