The ball was in full swing.

People mingling around just like movies, wearing expensive clothes; even more expensive than my whole existence.

Drinking expensive champagne and doing little chit-chat, while enjoying the sight of a loving couple dance slowly in the middle of the ballroom.

This event screamed; high gentry event.

Dellilio and I talked, after the kiss, we stayed there for some more time and he told me one important thing, which made my heart swell with pride, pride; that my mate is still thinking of me before anything.

He told me that he is not going to announce that I'm his mate until he becomes a Hybrid, the Oracles want Dellilio to back off and stop pursuing his dream, and they'll do anything to make him stop, so he said his first concern after hearing the call of war was; me.

He was worried that they'll use me to weaken him, and he can't let that happen and I agree with him 100%.

It'll make things more fragile, him announcing his mate when he's under war call and is looking forward to becoming a Hybrid; this is a lot.

I asked Dellilio something honestly, is he power-hungry? or is this just a goal he wants to achieve, I wanted to know the reason behind this.

The reason behind him wanting to be a Hybrid even though he is a Lycan, and a Lycan is considered as the Hulk of the werewolves.

A Lycan is nearly impossible to kill, cause they won't let you go close to them, their fighting skills and the mental charge are so phenomenal.

He got seated, after making me sit on the couch in that room.

"You see, I'm power-hungry but our meaning of "power" don't match here, the power you're asking about is authority-wise power right?" He asked and I nodded.

"Hmm, I've already told you how me being a Lycan came in handy when I had to kill Alpha Fenris Rupen...my father, he was a very powerful Alpha of his time; both mentally and physically." Gears started turning in my head at this nonchalant statement of his.

"But being a Lycan made me able to kill that strong ass alpha, even though the situation was very less than ideal, I'll say it worked as a bonus point, I did it in defense of my sister."

"I'll cut straight to the chase, you've probably heard many ruthless stories about me?" He asked and I nodded.

"I have authority, not a very higher one but I still have some authority so, I was not and I'm still not going after that but then I decided to do something as scandalous as dreaming to become a Hybrid, authority and power were never the cases,"

"I just want to do it for myself, I want to become impeccable; both physically and mentally, I've heard some of the stories people made up about me, no matter what they were but in the end I was portrayed as a super-strong man who kills innocents cause he doesn't feel bad, why? cause he is very very strong mentally so he copes with his emotions, shuts his guilt and shame away, problem solved."

"Then for the physical part, yeah, he is a Lycan so no problem, the thing is that I wanted their negativity to not affect me, so I turned their negative narratives into my positive ones,"

"I taught myself that, 'okay I'm not gonna be affected by this I'll just use this to grow myself and make myself better' you know at the end of the day...my goal is to become so powerful in a good way that people will remember me for my good doings, like how I fought a war or how I saved this and that, why? cause I, Dellilio Rupen was insanely powerful, if not insanely then just powerful is fine, as long as I can help people I'm good with anything."
