Chapter 15 - Right Where I Left You

My smile widens as we approach the demon castle. I heard Big Big shout.

Big Big: "OPEN THE GATE! THE SAND DRAGON HAS RETURNED!"

Y/N: "HI, BIG BIG!!"

I waved.

Big Big: "Princess...? PRINCESS!! THE PRINCESS IS BACK!!"

He ran down to the gate. The gate opens to reveal everyone waiting for us. Everyone except Twilight. Sandy landed and put his head down to let me get off.

Cleric: "Princess!"

I slid down into his arms.

Y/N: "Grandpa!"

Everyone was filled with joy.

Cleric: "I'm so glad to see you! But... why did you come back, princess?"

Y/N: "I came back home. And... I'm not a princess anymore. You can all call me Y/N!"

The Demons: "YOU GOT IT!"

Minotaur: "Y/N!"

Quilly: "We're so happy to see you."

Goblin: "You're here safe and sound!"

Frankenzombie: "How did you get here?"

I laughed.

Y/N: "A long story involving a merchant and his horse Lucy, a pit stop at Endopolis, and a reunion with Sandy..."

Harpy: "BESTIE!!!"

Harpy flew into me, knocking me over as usual.

Harpy: "I'm so glad you're alright!! I was so upset when I heard you had been taken by the hero!! Please don't ever leave again!!"

Y/N: "Don't worry, I won't."

Big Big: "Princess- I mean, Y/N."

Harpy helped me back onto my feet and I looked into Big Big's stern face.

Big Big: "You... came back willingly..."

I smiled, wrapped my arms around him and buried my face in his fur before looking up at him.

Y/N: "I couldn't stay away from your fluff."

He let out a small growl before smiling.

Big Big: "I can't stay mad at you anymore..."

I let go and looked around at everyone.

Y/N: "Seriously though, it's wonderful to be back, but... where's Twilight?"

Everyone went silent.

Poseidon: "The demon king hasn't moved since you left."

Cleric: "He hasn't forgiven himself for allowing you to be taken."

Alraune: "He hasn't had the motivation to do anything."

Fire Venom Dragon: "He hasn't eaten or slept in days."

I gasped before walking back to Big Big and lifting my arms up.

Y/N: "Take me to him."

He picked me up onto his shoulders and took me to Twilight's room, everyone else following. When we got there, Big Big let me down.

Y/N: "Stay here, everyone."

I opened his door. Twilight was kneeling on the floor, not looking at me.

Twilight: "No, Big Big, for the last time, I don't want a sleeping potion."

I shut the door behind me.

Y/N: "*sigh*... Right where I left you."

Twilight: "Big Big, do you have a cold? Why do you sound like... the princess...?"

I walked around and stood in front of his bed. His eyes were glued to the floor.

Y/N: "Look up, dummy dumb."

He slowly raised his head. His eyes widened when he saw me.

Twilight: "Am I hallucinating?"

Y/N: "No. Don't you think I'd tell you that?"

I smiled. He stood up and ran into me.

Twilight: "PRINCESS!"

He hugged me, knocking me backwards onto the bed. Like Harpy does, except clumsier than her. I hugged him tight as he cried on top of me.

Twilight: "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry, princess!"

I cried too, but I was also smiling.

Y/N: "Stop calling me that, you jerk. I'm not a princess anymore."

I sat up on your elbows, he lifted his head up.

Twilight: "What...?"

Y/N: "I couldn't be with you and be Princess Merrispark at the same time... so I made a choice."

Twilight: "You mean... you didn't marry hero face...?"

Y/N: "Of course not. I ran away the night before. I couldn't go through with it... I love you too much."

I rolled over so I was on top of him.

Y/N: "So stop feeling so sorry! I'm home now, and I'll never leave you again. I love you, Twilight."

He sat up so I was on his lap. I gently wiped his eyes.

Twilight: "I love you too...... Y/N, I know you're not a princess anymore, but... would you consider... being my queen?"

Y/N: "The demon queen? But I don't have horns, or fur, or feathers, or scales, or quills, or-"

I was cut off when he kissed me and smiled.

Twilight: "You think any of that matters to me, dummy dumb?"

I smiled.

Y/N: "I accept."

We stayed cuddling for a while before going back out to everyone together.

Y/N: "Everyone! There will be a royal wedding after all!"

Twilight: "Say hello to your new Demon Queen!"

Everyone cheered and cried tears of happiness.

Y/N: "Grandpa..."

Cleric: "Yes, dear."

Y/N: "Will you give me away?"

He was filled with joy at those words.

Cleric: "I'd love nothing more, my heart."

Big Big: "What about me?"

Twilight: "You, Big Big, you're my best man."

His tail wagged and he smiled.

Harpy: "What about me, princess?!"

Y/N: "You're my bride's maid, of course."

She let out a joyful squeal. Every demon in the castle ended up asking what they should be in the wedding.

Y/N: "Phew, being queen is exhausting already."

Twilight smiled and pulled me in. I laughed.

Twilight: "Come 'ere, you."

He kissed me and everyone cheered. That night, the demons were filled with more joy than anyone in all of Goodereste. And with that, Y/N and Twilight lived happily ever after... in the Demon Castle.
