On a random day without anything special, Dexter walked through the dog door holding something in his mouth. It was a ball of fur. Walking towards Jaylin, Dexter set it down, barking to earn his owner's attention.

"What Dex?" Jaylin asked without taking her eyes off of her work. "There's food in the bowl, as usual."

Her animal friend wasn't pleased with the lack of attention but still picked up the ball of fur and placed it near the bowl. With a lot of hesitation from the ball of fur dug, Dexter used his snout encouragingly, and into the bowl did the small snout start eating. Pleased with the puppy's action, Dexter went to add another ball of fur. Another second later, an adolescent-like dog followed Dexter who had a puppy in his mouth in.

Did Dexter become a dog speedster?

Nah, he's just fast.

Jaylin so immersed in her work didn't hear Dexter's barking although people in the neighboring building were complaining already. Dexter saw that his owner was paying little to zero attention to him, he did what other dogs would've done, he bit hard on Jaylin's coat pulling it. Unprepared for her dog's actions, she fell onto the floor.

"Dex," Jaylin said with a warning tone.

Dexter's tail straightened because of agitation and hurriedly barked twice and ran towards where the puppies were.

In front of Dexter, sat 3 extra puppies that were not supposed to be in the loft. Based on the size, the largest and seemingly older of the trio was a Leonberger, the second was a German Shepard, and lastly a Rottweiler.

Jaylin made a face once her eyes landed on the littlest puppy. Not hate towards the breed of Rottweiler, she previously lived next to an old man with a Rottweiler as a guard dog. Simply put, trauma could lead to prejudice.

The little puppies started yipping, still hungry for food. Jaylin didn't have the heart to turn them away, so she complied and put more food but got extra bowls for each individual instead of using Dexter's bowl.

"They are your responsibility," Jaylin spoke sternly at the dog that brought them in. Dexter barked once answering her.

Jaylin grabbed her phone and went into the fire escape. Looking through her contacts, she finally found the one she needed, well, the one who needed her.

Midnight entered the window as per usual, slipping past Jaylin. The only difference was that now, there wasn't just one dog but three additional puppies he wasn't familiar with. Guess what that led to.

That second, Dexter was watching as the cat jumped from one thing to another, puppies chasing it making a mess of everything while Midnight knocked everything over as she ran behind the said objects. Jaylin said it was his responsibility to look after the puppies, it didn't include Midnight, right?

When Jaylin got home, she saw everything was a mess. A tick mark appeared visually on her forehead. The animals could immediately feel her fury that all of them tried to escape.

"Sit!" She shouted at the animals that in unison, followed instructions and sat obediently. "You are all going got clean up or else, prepare for spanking and no food for three weeks."

Dexter, the older dog, was merely a bystander who was dragged into the punishment. It was either clean-up spanking - not sure how that would work - or weeks with no good meals. Anyone who is sane would prefer to clean up, and animals were included in that list.

Hours passed and Jaylin was still home sleep-deprived. The woman sprawled on the couch, Dexter had to drag a blanket over her so she wouldn't catch a cold. The place wasn't cleaned at all. How would the pets clean the place either way? They just piled things up which were in the way of walking.
