Adelaide

Finally once we break from our embrace, I turn to her and say, "We need to go and talk to Oliver and Sebastian. You need to tell Sebastian about the baby." I pause, and give her a genuine smile as I realize I have barley even acknowledged the fact she's actually going to be a mother, "you're going to be an amazing mother by the way. And then we are going to work out a plan for how you are going to reject Levi. Because there is no way in hell that I am going to let you do this alone. I'm here for you always."

"What-what do you think Bash is going to say about the baby, Ads? I'm so scared to tell him – I'm not even his mate!" she yelps.

"Hey, Emma, everything is going to be ok. That boy is enamored with you, and he would do anything for you. It's going to be ok, I promise."

"Ok" she breaths. "I can do this" she says with a smile on her face.

I mind link Ollie, and find out where he is. He lets me know that he has just returned from the home-pack and I tell him that I'm bringing Emma to the pack house and that we need to meet with him and Sebastian immediately. He asks if everything is ok, but I just brush him off and let him know that we'll be there in thirty minutes.

On the drive back to the pack, I let Emma know that she should tell Bash about the pregnancy first, privately. I didn't want to over-step but asked if it was alright that I let Oliver know, and she agreed that that might be best. I then said we would let them know about the rejection together.

When we pull up to the house, both Oliver and Sebastian are waiting at the front door for us. Ollie comes running over to me, once I've left the jeep and wraps me in his arms. "Is everything ok? You wouldn't answer me, and I got worried" he says with a pout on his face.

"Yes, everything is ok. We just have something important to discuss." He nods his head and I start to walk up to the door.

I pause when I notice Emma still standing hesitantly beside the jeep, staring up at the door. I look over and see Sebastian standing there, his hand nervously scratching the back of his neck. And I realize that this may be the first time they've seen each other since Emma's birthday, when they found out they weren't mates. I walk back over to Emma and link arms with her. Gently pulling her forwards as I whisper "everything is going to be ok."

I look back up to Ollie, who is now standing beside Bash at the door, and I motion them forward with my head as I tell them "let's go talk in your office."

Oliver

The four of us are walking through the halls of the pack house and nothing has been said yet. I'm growing anxious to find out what Adelaide and Emma need to tell us. But before I can open the door to my office, Addie grabs my arms and mind-links me. They need to talk in private first. So, I open the door but without stepping in, I make a gesture to let them go in first. Emma walks past me and I hear her murmur a quick thanks. As Bash slowly walks past me, he looks at me with confusion to which I answer his silent question with an unknowing shrug of my own. Once both are inside the office, I pull the door closed and look over at my beautiful mate. She gives me a sheepish smile, and then pulls me to an empty room a few doors down.

Once we get into the room, I close the door behind me and lean back up against it with my arms cross in front of me. "So are you going to tell me what this is about yet?" I quizzically ask her.

"Yes, I will. Well at least part of it anyways." She stumbles over her words, which are not doing anything to calm my unease. All I do is raise my eyebrow at her and wait for her to continue.

"Emma's pregnant." Her words only slightly surprise me, as after all, we are werewolves and we are a very horny bunch. Plus Emma is mated now, and it's kind of a natural part of our cycle, to get pregnant young and start producing pups. But it's her next words that shock me. "And the baby is Bash's."

I stare at her for a few minutes, grasping to understand what she's said, before I blurt out "are you sure it's his?" This earns me a smack from my love as she chastises me, "yes, you ass! She and Levi haven't even had sex."

"Oh, fuck." I say not knowing what else I should say. "I know" she says agreeing with me.

"So now what?" I ask.

"Now, we wait for Emma to tell him, and then we all need to discuss what happens next" she answers. As if on cue, Sebastian mind-links us that we both can come back to his office.

We cautiously make our way into my office, not fully aware of what we will be walking into. I look around the office and am pleased at least to find the room has not been turned upside down. Sebastian is sitting in the couch with his elbows on his knees and his hands cupping his chin. He's staring Emma down, but he isn't showing any emotion on his face. Emma is leaning up against my desk a few feet away from him looking timid.

Addie makes her way beside her best friend, and I go and sit down beside mine. I grasp one arm around his shoulder and squeeze, but he doesn't do much to acknowledge me. Clearly he's still in shock.

Once we are all settled Emma gets started. "Thank you both for meeting with me; I am going to need your help." Both Bash and I look up at her with confusion, so she continues on. "Addie told me about the abuse that Levi has caused her; and there's no way that I want to raise a family, or our child..." she pauses and gives a sad smile to Bash, "around a man like that. I'm going to reject Levi as my mate."

The silence in the room is deafening. It's not unheard of to reject a mate, but it's also not a very common thing to do either. After all, mates are meant to be your perfect counter-part. A few moments go by, before I hear "holy shit! Are you serious?" come from my best friend beside me. I look over at Bash, and finally it's like a little life was brought back into him.

"Yes, I'm serious" Emma says. "I'm so sorry Bash for the past few weeks. I know that it couldn't have been easy for you. But I'm not accepting the bond, and I truly do care for you, and I hope that you are willing to be a part of mine and our baby's life. If not mine, than at least its."

Without hesitation Bash jumps up from the couch and quickly strides over to Emma. He stops right in front of her, grasping her face in his hands before crashing his lips down on hers. As excited as I am for my friend, I don't really need to see their make-out session, so I clear my throat and ask "You said you needed our help though?"

Awkwardly, the two break apart, but it's Addie that answers my question "Yes, we need you to be there with us when she rejects Levi. There's no way in hell I'm letting her do this on her own. I don't fucking trust the son a bitch."

I couldn't have said it better myself.
