Chapter 25: Her Diary

SASHA REIN SALVATORE

I just finished taking a bath when I saw a box underneath my bed. I put down the towel I'm using for drying my hair and walk near my bed. I slowly took it out and it was my little capsule when I was still Sasha Santos.

The box was covered with dust, and it can also be seen that the box is already old. I cleaned it using my hand and opened the box. It was filled with things I cherish the most.

My little cassette player, the tulip pen Ate Janna gave me, the dried flowers from Ate Janna's bouquet which was given to her by Ku-Jax, the plastic rings from the snacks, a picture of the two of us, and two diaries. Two?

There are two diaries here, a blue one and a violet one. The blue one is mine. And the other one is hers.

I took out her diary. Ibinigay nga pala sa akin 'to ni Mama Ali, ako raw ang magtago. Hindi ko pa ito sinubukang buksan dahil hindi ko kaya. Kaya ngayon ko pa lang ito mababasa talaga.

I put down the box on the floor and sat down on my bed.

I carefully opened her diary.

"Come, I'll hug you." Pagbasa ko. Naka-calligraphy ito at may kaunting design pa. Sa baba nito, nakasulat ang pangalan niya.

"Janna Santos." I touch it. It is really her handwritten. Parang binibiyak na naman ang puso ko.

I swallowed hard and turned to the next page.

I was playing with my friends noong may makita akong napa-cute na bata. She looks so pretty and innocent. She's crying while holding her cute skirt. Nilapitan ko ang bata at tinanong kung nawawala ba siya, but she's just crying kaya dinala ko siya sa bahay namin.

PS. Her name is Rein. Sasha Rein, according to her necklace.]

It's about me. Tears fell as I remembered a fragment of memories from that day. It's blurry but I can see her. She's smiling at me while extending her arms to me.

Pangarap kong magkaroon ng kapatid kaya naman tuwang-tuwa ako nung dumating si Rein sa buhay namin. Kahit pa hindi ko siya totoong kapatid. She'll forever be my sister.]

Napatingala ako sa ceiling. Ate, mahal na mahal din kita. Pero bakit hindi ka nagpapakita sa panaginip ko? Nagtatampo ka ba sa akin kasi lumaki akong ganito kaya hindi mo 'ko binibisita kahit sa panaginip man lang?

May nakilala akong lalaki. Kapatid siya nung student council president. He's super handsome. Anak mayaman kaya akala ko arogante. Pero kabaliktaran pala. Mukha siyang masungit sa unang tingin pero napakabait at gentleman. Kahit pa mas bata siya sa akin, crush ko na siya. Crush lang naman.]

About 'to kay Jax. Si Ate pala unang nagkagusto sa kanila. Matagal na pala silang magkakilala bago naging sila.

Nalaman niya na! Nalaman niyang crush ko siya. Baliw kasi si Rhea, e. Kapag ako nakulong, lagot siya sa 'kin.

Natawa ako ro'n. Big deal kasi talaga kay Ate ang edad. Kaya nga nagulat ako nung malaman kong mas bata sa kaniya si K-Jax.
