A Few Strings From My Heart

I haven't missed a single day without,
Without your lingering thought,
Without glimpsing those mesmerizing eyes when I -
I close mine at midnight's stroke.

Sans hearing your voice or
Or without basking in the glow of that captivating smile,
The smile that beckons departure from continents seven,
The sea, and those cherished by me,
And only to live, to sustain the flame.

Love, I grapple with understanding, perhaps this is delusion,
Delusion entwined with love, love draped in delusion, or
Delusion brought forth by love; I know not.
Yet truth be told—here I am without you, Yet you persist with me.

I smile here on the balcony, pondering repeatedly
Of our intricate narrative, your sweetest eyes locking into mine,
The long braided strands of your dark hair and
Smile so endearing that even the most adorable child
Would gaze in envy.

But -
It wasn't solely for your elegant beauty I fell.
It was for your character, your heart, and your soul,
Exquisite! Your soul, a tapestry of beauty, my dear.
Beauty entwined with you, you draped in beauty, or
Beauty personified by you; I know not.
And I do know—you weren't flawless, Yet for me, you were enchanting.

Now, as I gaze at those memories,
You still appear so animated,
Even as I carry this seemingly lifeless heart.
In it you keep your spark so remarkably vibrant.
Still enchanted, still waiting as I articulate,
A few strings from my heart, love palpitate.
