Final Part - The students of Class D

“Wow, it’s bigger than I thought it’d be.”

A couple guys snickered at the sudden sneaky innuendo that I accidentally made.

Horikita and I met after school to go to the gymnasium.

Almost everyone there were first years; around 100 people were waiting nearby.

Waiting around the back, we were waiting for the club fair to start.

As we entered the gym, pamphlets with details about club activities were passed out.

“I wonder if this school has a particularly famous club. For example… something like a karate club?”

Apparently , it wasn't only Horikita that was interested in the idea of a martial arts club of some sorts. A decent amount of people were asking alongside her and were even feeling down at the knowledge of there being none.

“A lot of clubs here seem to be high-leveled. There are a lot of members in a lot of clubs that are nationally known.”

Even though this school isn’t particularly known for their sports like baseball or volleyball, it isn’t like the club activities are at the “hobbyist” level.

“The facilities are also high quality. Look, they even have oxygen capsules. All the equipment put pro’s equipment to shame. Ah, but it looks like they don’t have a karate club.”

Sakagami-sensei puffed his chest a bit at the level of prestige our school has. I'm not sure why though , he's not affiliated with anything related to club activities last time I checked.

“… I see.”

“Why, are you interested in karate?”

“No, not particularly.”

“But you know, it looks like an inexperienced person will have a hard time joining a sports club. Even if someone made their high school debut, they would be a substitute for an eternity. I don’t think it would be fun.”

"I don't necessarily think that's true."

Ichinose raised her hand at the same time she spoke , which is much more polite than how everyone's just been interjecting their opinions so far. Now that I think about it , how do they conveniently stop the videos as soon as someone talks? It's too fast to have been done remotely , possibly some voice detector of some sort? Anyways , I don't agree with Ichinose's opinion. As Ichinose always is , her view on this subject is too optimistic , there's no possible way someone inexperienced will have as much game time as a veteran player.

"I'm sorry to say Honami , but that way of thinking is rather flawed. Sure , joining clubs could be seen as just another way to interact and befriend others , but that's only really for the less competitive clubs. Clubs like basketball and football aren't something that you can just pick up on and be on par with everyone else that's been playing for years. It's as tedious , if not more tedious than catching up on your studies."

Wow... He really shut her down.

"Even so , Nagumo-senpai , what about the former less competitive clubs you mentioned? Something like tea ceremony for example , or if we're being exclusive to only sports , archery."

"Archery is also a skillful sport which you'll need to know how to play to actually join , now you're arguing just to argue , Honami."

"That isn't my point , Nagumo-senpai. What I'm saying is that you can definitely join a club without needing to feel the pressure of being as good as your peers , it purely depends on the environment and mood the club gives off."
