"Will you marry me?" his voice echoed on my mind as if I got bewitched. As the man in front of me proposes, I stood there, frozen in shock and not knowing what to respond.  Why is this man proposing? I don't even know him. Is this a prank? Does his brain have a loose screw? Just like what any normal human would do, I asked;

"Sir, who are you?" I looked at him directly, not blinking an eye.
I thought he would get mad but instead—he looks at me, dumbfounded.

"Abel, Abel Heilon", he sighed. As I realized who he finally is, I immediately bowed down. Now I know why he's got such a terrifying aura. The Heilon family is the founder of the law firm. Why didn't I realized it earlier? They're known for their silver hair and sapphire eyes yet I failed to recognize him. Is he perhaps proposing to me so I snap me back to my senses?

"Ms. Y/N, please look at me" he orders. Feeling ashamed of myself, I stopped bowing but couldn't get myself to face him. Finally lost his patience, Mr. Abel lifts up my chin and asks...

"Is my proposal boring?" he looks at me with a serious expression.

"I'll answer you sir, but can you please get your hand off me first?" I sweat. As he takes off his hand, I can hear my heart pounding anxiously. The moment I finally said the words no, the room went silent. Unexpectedly, Mr. Abel just laughed it off.

"It's alright Ms. Y/N, I understand" he smiled before leaving the room and saying

"You're fired Mr. Darius"

After all that drama, alas—my irresponsible manager is finally kicked out. The moment he left the room angrily, my colleagues sighed in relief. Feeling overwhelmed, I sighed before my legs gave in. My knees hit the floor making Eunice rush towards me to help.

"What was that all about, miss? Do you know Mr. Abel?" she asks with worry as she helps me stand up and get me back on my seat.

"I don't know either, I just hope this doesn't happen again" I responded.

"Why are you saying that? You're wasting such good husband material you know" a female colleague approaches our table.

"I think you should give him a chance, I've been working here for 5 years and it's the first time I saw him smile like that" another colleague added. Before I knew it, I was being swarmed by my co-workers asking why Mr. Abel proposed and how we knew each other. I've politely answered their questions with truth but it seems like they won't stop until 2 days pases. Even after they went back to their table, I can clearly hear them gossiping.

After that incident, I couldn't focus on my work and ended up here—overtime.

"I just have to finish this an-"

"You're still here?" a familiar voice reached out. As Mr. Abel walks toward my table, I can feel my heart beating fast. We are currently alone in the office, is this why I'm tensing up? He's a man, and I'm a woman. Why am I having such unrealistic thoughts? To snap out of it, I slapped both of my cheeks as he looked at me in shock.

"Ms. Y/N, what are you doing?" he looks at me genuinely confused. I, who have nothing to say only replied;

"There was a mosquito, sir". As I answered him awkwardly, his lips started twitching, trying hard not to laugh.

"You can laugh at me sir, I don't mind" I just sighed and he laughed.

"What a maniac laugh" my thoughts slipped out.

"But you like it though..." he smiled at me before getting closer to my face. Is this it? Am I finally going to get my first kiss? As he leaned in closer, I could feel his breath tickling my skin. He then brushed off my hair near my ear and whispered;

"Your ear and cheeks are red". The moment he said those words, he took a glance at my flushed face.

"Did you expect a kiss?" he smirked before I covered my face with my hands. I feel so ashamed to the point that I want to cry. Finally noticing my disappointment, he leaned in once again to take off my hands. I tried my best to stop him from doing so, but it was pointless...

He finally takes off my hands covering my face and asks;

"Are you disappointed?"

"It's jus-" before I even completed my answer, he suddenly pulled me in for a kiss, biting my lips. As soon as he stopped twisting his tongue inside my mouth, he finally pulled out and said;

"You could've said yes". He smiled once again before kneeling down,

"I, Abel Heilon, am sincere and serious about my proposal to none other than the woman in front of me", as he said those words out loud—I sensed a familiarity with his lines. This line, this scenario, it was the same as the proposal on my favorite book.
