Please, whatever you do.... do NOT start your story like this:
"OMG! We just got tickets to see [insert band name here] in concert! I'm so excited!"
Or...
"OMG! I can't believe [insert celebrity name here] just moved in next door!"
Or anything of the like. Honestly? There are a million stories that start out like that and they all end up the same way. It's boring. It's overdone. And it's not a challenge to write it, either. This is the fun about being an author. Be creative! Think of an original story that no one has ever heard before and run with it. You want your story to stand out and you want people begging to read more because they have no clue how any of it is going to end.
Just remember: Originality = success.
