tension rose in the arena. your boyfriend held your hand under the table, he was shaking but you had your hopes high.
you believed in him, you knew he had his under his belt.
he was your winner, no matter the outcome.

'george ezra!'

it was like the room fell silent and went into a slow motion trance. you could see the celebration and cheer around you but couldn't hear it. you were so proud and overwhelmed by the man standing up.
he held your face, kissed you with a single tear streaming down his face.

'thank you.'

he said ever so quietly, just audible to you.
in that moment, you were brought back into the room. you could hear the reaction of the crowds and fell into a comfortable rhythm with the applause.

'i love you.'

both you and george said at the same time before he continued to accept the congratulations from his brother, sister and the team members around him.
he then left the table area to collect his long-awaited and well deserved BRIT award.
