~Rachel~

We arrived at the lake house at about nine o'clock. It was dark out, but there were tons of stars showing in the sky. They are all so beautiful, twinkling and shining in the sky. The bright full moon lit the way to the front door. Colton unlocked the door and went inside. He turned the lights on and held the door open so that I could come inside. He was carrying both our bags. He insisted on carrying mine for me even though I am capable of doing it myself.

The interior of the lake house was very modern. It had nice furniture and a big kitchen.

"This is very pretty." I said.

"Good."

I felt a curl in my hair. It felt almost rock hard because of the amount of hair spray that Katie had used. I told her that I didn't need hair spray in the first place. But she thought that I did. "Can I take a quick shower? All of this hair spray is bothering me." I said.

"I'm cool with that. I need a shower too. Let's do it." He said.

"Alone." I said.

He rolled his eyes. "I was only kidding. I will show you where the bathroom is."

"Thank you." I grabbed my bag and he lead me to the restroom.

I flipped the light switch on. I opened my bag to find a box of condoms sitting on top of my clothes. Katie wrote a note on the back of the box in sharpie.

"Just in case things get spicy. Love you." -Katie

I laughed. I started the shower. The steam began to condensate on the glass of the shower door. The warm water ran over my body. I started to think about what Katie gave me. Would I even need them?

I dried myself with a towel that was hanging on the towel bar. I changed into my cotton shorts and a t-shirt that Katie had packed.

I walked back out into the kitchen. Colton was talking to someone. He was video-chatting someone using my phone. He saw me and told me to come over to where he was sitting. He was talking to Dylan and Katie. They were lying on Katie's floor.

"Hey Rachel! Did you get my present?" she asked.

"Yes I did." I said.

"Have fun." she wiggled her eyebrows.

"Shut up." I said. She laughed.

"So Dylan here finally asked Katie on a date." Colton said.

"Ooh, care to explain, Katie?" I asked.

You could tell that she was blushing. "Well, when I went back home after you guys left for dinner, he was sitting on my porch. He admitted to me that he liked me." She said. "Then-"

"I'm here too you know." Dylan said. "I can explain."

"Go ahead." Katie said.

"After I told her that I liked her, she didn't say anything. Wow, this sounds like we are in middle school again." He said. "I thought that maybe she didn't like me back and she was thinking of what to say without hurting me. But she did something I didn't expect at all. She kissed me. Then she told me that she liked me too." he said.

"After that, he asked me out on a date." She said. "Now you are all caught up."

"Why are you still there, Dylan?" I asked.

"Her mom invited me inside for dinner. It was kind of awkward because it was just Katie, her mom and I. We didn't really know what to tell her mom." He said. "Then we decided to hang out and get to know each other more. I guess that is what we were doing before she left to give you your stuff."
