The idea for this story came from my own hobby of taking the letters of people's names or the numbers of their important dates and creating unique designs with them, which I used to gift on birthdays and anniversaries.
Since only I and the recipient understand the design, it got me thinking that it would be an interesting and unexpected way to hide a code. After that, my imagination ran towards a type of secret organization rivalry, with a snarky protagonist and a touch of humor. Nothing super profound about it, just a bit of fun writing practice.
