Highschool Love Story - Kelly Severide - Chicago Fire - Part 2

Kelly stood there unable to say anything. Another taller man then approached you

"I'm Matt Casey, nice to meet you" Matt smiled as you shook his hand

"Commissioner Y/L/N" You smiled

"And the mother of my kid apparently" Kelly muttered

"Kelly" You sighed

"What?" Matt asked

"It's nothing, I was just congratulating Luitenent Severide here" You smiled

"Kelly's worked hard for this, there's no one more deserving" Matt smiled

"I'm aware" You smiled as you phone went off

"Sorry guys, I've gotta run" You smiled as you walked off

"Y/N" Kelly said as he ran after you

"Look I get it, I know you wanna talk. Swing by my office tonight. I'll explain everything" You said as you got into your car

Kelly sighed as he watched you drive off.

It had just hit 9pm. You were working late like always. Your daughter was with her grandparents. You found it hard juggling the whole single mom and Work thing. You were then disturbed by a knock at your door.

"Come in" You smiled

Kelly then stumbled in, clearly drunk

"Hey kid" Kelly said as he wobbled

"Don't tell me you drove over here?!" You said as you rose to your feet and walked over to him

"Of course I didn't!" He yelled

"Okay, let's sit you down" You said as you put your hands on his arms

"I can't be a dad" Kelly said as he sat down with your help

"I know you can't Kelly, that's why I hid her from you" You said getting him a glass of water

"Does she ever ask...ask where I am?" Kelly asked as he took a drink of the water

"Not as often as you might think" You said as Kelly knocked the glass from the table

"Crap sorry" He said

"It's all good, do you need a ride home?" You asked

"I got evicted, I have no where to go" Kelly admitted

"Okay, come with me" You smiled as Kelly rested his head on your shoulder as you walked out

You drove Kelly to your house. It was a 5 bedroom penthouse which overlooked the whole of Chicago. Kelly stumbled in the door as you put your keys on the counter top. You showed Kelly to his room and he eventually fell asleep.

It was the next morning and you were making pancakes with your daughter.

"Can I have 3...no! 4 pancakes!" Violet smiled

"Of course! You can have as many as you want kiddo" You smiled as Kelly walked out

"Morning" You smiled as Violet ran off to play

"I'm sorry for last night, I'll get out of your hair" Kelly said

"Hey, come on at least stay for pancakes?" You smiled as you showed him the pan

"Okay" He smiled

All 3 of you sat and ate the pancakes. Violet kept asking Kelly questions and you slowly started to realise that maybe Kelly was cut out to be a dad, he was a natural with her.

"Thank you ladies for the pancakes but I need to get to shift" Kelly said as he stood up

"You get to drive a fire engine?!" Violet giggled

"I do and it's pretty cool. If you ask your mom you could come to shift with me right now?" Kelly asked getting down to violets level

"Please mama!" Violet smiled

You hesitated as you looked at your daughters beaming smile

"Fine, but I'll pick you up soon!" You said

"Yay!" She giggled

"I'll take good care of her don't worry" Kelly said as he helped Violet put her jacket on

You smiled at Kelly

"I wouldn't even doubt that for a second" You said

"Come on kiddo, say bye to mom" Kelly said as he took her little hand in his

"Bye mama!" Violet waved as did Kelly

You watched them walk out the door before thinking to yourself "Jesus I love this man" you quickly caught yourself saying that. It was almost like something had clicked.

That day passed and it was around noon. You had finished up with morning meetings and you went to the firehouse to collect Violet. You had text Kelly just before you left

You - Tell me she hasn't been too much trouble?
Kelly - She's an angel, clearly takes after her dad

Dad that word stood out to you. He knew about Violet for a day and he was so open to the fact he was her dad.

You - I'll come and collect her now. See you in 10 ❤️
Kelly - No bother kid 😌

You smiled as you put your phone in your back pocket. You arrived at the firehouse shortly after.

"Mama!" Violet yelled as she ran over to you

"You look like you've had a fun day!" You smiled looking at your daughters face which was covered in chocolate

"Go get your jacket kiddo" Kelly smiled as Violet ran back inside

"She's been an angel really" Kelly said as you looked at him

"I know how inappropriate what im about to do is but I really don't care" You said

"What?" Kelly said as you pulled him close and kissed him

Kelly pulled away and smiled

"I wouldn't mind if you came by every day and did that" Kelly laughed

"Don't push your luck Severide" You smiled

*1 Year Later*

You and Kelly became a thing again. You both watched your daughter grow up. You had never been happier. It was your 1 year anniversary since you guys shared that kiss. Kelly had taken you and Violet out for ice cream. It was a hot day and Violet was wearing a big jumper

"Come here kiddo, let me take that off" You said as you removed her jumper

As you removed the jumper you read her t shirt which said "Mommy, Will you marry Daddy" You looked over to Kelly who was down on one knee

"Will you marry me Y/N?" He asked

"Of course I will" You smiled as you kissed him
