In Lumiouse city
We see Ash and his friends is in the city walking to the Cyllage city where his next gym will be
"Kay, Cyllage city your up next," he pointed at the direction of the city, "Here we come!"
"Pikachu!"
"I have an idea!" Serena said that made them stops at their tracks and looks at her, "Since we're already here in Lumiouse city, why don't we go and give Victor and Gloria a visit and invite them to visit Professor Sycamore before we leave?" She asked
"Wait, Victor and Gloria are here?" Ash asked
"Gloria texted me that they have a cafe to stay in and we can freely visit them if we want!" Serena replied
"That's a good idea Serena," Clement said
"Yeah, why don't we go there?" Ash said
They nodded and goes to the direction of the cafe

The four entered the cafe after it was open. They were trying to find them but they see Victor and Hop is having an argument
"Come on! I would've won easily!" Victor shouted
Hop sighed and slides in a banana to him, "Here, a banana to calm you down," he said
"Like I said, I'm not a Mankey damnit! Don't try to brush this off!" Victor replied
"I know that your sword didn't slash the Megiddo because it has slippery skin," Hop responded
"Um, are you Victor?"
"Huh?" He turns around to see them, "Oh, you four. Yes, what is it?" Victor asked
"Would you and Gloria, Hop. Would like to visit Professor Sycamore?" Serena asked
Victor thinks about it for a second, "Sure, why not," he replied
"I agree, I wanted to meet the Professor anyways," Hop said
"Hold on, give me a minute to go get Gloria here," Victor got up and goes to the back door

It shows Team Rocket is watching the recording of the incident back in Lumiouse city where they first arrived. They see a Pokemon quickly caught Ash before he hits the ground
"Huh? What's that?" Jessie asked
"Amazing. Fascinating. It would seem this is Blaziken's mega evolution," James responded
"Mega evolution? It looks mega super strong," Jessie said
"To refresh our collective memory, our plan is to make Meowth mega evolve and then capture Pikachu," James said
