Shiza's POV (Edited)

As we made our entry, almost every head turned in our direction. My palms turned sweaty and I started to feel nervous. There were almost above hundred people and they were all staring at us. I was getting self-conscious. I turned my head to look at Shah Zain. But he seemed least bothered by it. He was looking ahead proudly. Of course, it's not a big deal for him. He had attended these functions many times in his life.

But not me.

My breathing went erect and the muscles in my body seemed to be stiff. I think he probably noticed the change in my posture because the next thing he did was lean down. My breath once again hitched and he mumbled slowly into my ear

"Take a deep breath and let yourself loose."

I merely nodded my head. His presence make me feel unusual sensations. He straightened up again and I followed his advice before relaxing my body. We both walked further and he greeted some of the people, I presumed to be business partners. He talked with smile and politeness. Two things he never use when he talked with me. The business people asked about me so Shah Zain slid his hand around my waist before introducing me

"This is Shiza Mir. My wife."

The person ahead of us smiled and stated politely

"Oh I see. How are you, young lady?"

I smiled lightly before answering

"I'm fine."

I kept my answer short. I don't know how to conversate with businessmen. Shah Zain and they talked for some more before we made our way further into the hall. The function was hall was pretty big. It was decorated prestigiously. The chandeliers stood high up in the air. The stage was set perfectly. There were table for the guests and we chose one. As we sat there, he once again leaned down and stated

"We have to act like a decent married couple infront of the guests. So, don't get stiffened the next time I touch you."

I nodded my head before facing the stage. Some person was standing there speaking about business and all. It was a party purely for businessmen. I could see the richness oozing out of their clothes. Their wives adorned the expensive clothes. Some of them were even eyeing me suspiciously. It was expected as our wedding was highly private and only important people were invited.

Some even tried to talk to me and tried to ask me the real reason of marriage but all I did was telling them a fake story of how our family wanted us to get married. Some of them believed that story but many of them were still suspicious.

They have every right to be. I'm not a high class girl nor did I belong to any rich business man family. It will raise questions that how Shah Zain could marry a simple girl like me. One of them was about to ask another question when Shah Zain finally decided to but in

"Don't mind me. But can I steal my wife from you?"

The ladies laughed secretly before nodding their heads. I heaved a big sigh of relief before turning to Shah Zain. He pinched his bridge of nose before muttering

"These ladies are always so nosy."

This is the first time I agreed with him too. They were practically trying to invade my personal life. I am so thankful that he decided to break their little interrogation session. I then said

"Thank you so much for coming in between. Otherwise, I don't know how to handle the situation."

He nodded his head before warning me
