Reunited

chapter 18

Aria still kept her head down not daring to look up , she was still extremely nervous and scared. The only difference this time was instead of her old baggy clothes, she was wearing clothes that fit and clothes most of not all girls were envious. 

Ares stuck to Aria like glue as much as possible. However it was impossible all day because they had different classes. Ares made a mental note to ask his parents to talk to the school to get their timetables matching up.

"I'll meet you outside class" Ares said and waited for Aria to enter the classroom before he left.

Unfortunately he was kept behind so when Aria walked out of class she was confronted by Luke.
"I swear whatever you told those boys you better take back before I tell" Luke said appearing in front of Aria. He had bruises littering his face mostly from Xander and Ares.

"Go away" she whispered lowering her head further.

"You don't get to tell me what to do you stupid bitch" Luke snapped.

"Sorry it won't happen again " she whispered, her voice stuttering.

"You're right. Let's get you home before you pull a dissapearing act again. That boy is fucking obsessed with you , we can't have him knowing where you are can we"

Aria noticed he was turning into their dad alot more recently. He never used to be this bad. If anything Brianna had been worse than Luke, but now Luke was a nightmare. He used to insult her in private and the occasional slap but now he was starting to become more violent and outside their home too.

She tried her best to walk away but he grabbed her arm and squeezed. "You do not get to walk away from me bitch " he snapped . The hallway was clear as everyone had rushed off and after a quick glance seeing no one about he hit her multiple times until she fell. "Stupid bitch " he repeated. She quickly got up with the intention of running but he grabbed her again. As he twisted her arm  he spoke with a menacing tone "you know Ares only sees you as a charity case, he doesn't care about you. You're just a project to him. He is only obsessed because of a little bet"

"What bet" she dared ask.

"The bet to see if you break the rules, after all disobedience is punished" he squeezed her twisted arm tight. Of course he only said that because he knew their parents had taught her to believe the exact same. He wanted her scared.

They heard a voice though, which made Luke roll his eyes. He really did hate them.

"I suggest you let her go"

It was  Ethan. Ares' best friend.

"Shut up I'll do what I want with her." Luke said and a sickly grin appeared on his face making Aria shudder.

Ethan wasn't having any of it and within seconds he had Luke pinned against a wall and repeatedly hit him.

"Stop"

Everyone turned to see Xander. At school Xander was feared so just one word had Ethan letting go of Luke but a slight smile still appeared because he knew Xander was going to do worse.

"Ethan take Aria to class, Luke, let's take a walk" Xander wasn't messing about.

"Sorry for loosing it back there " Ethan said as he walked Aria to her last class.

"It's okay, where's Ares though". She didn't know whether to believe him about some bet. She knew that she had been acting out though and Luke was right, she had to follow the rules or face the consequences.

"He sent me as the teacher wanted to talk to him and didn't want to keep you waiting "

Just then Ares came rushing to them "I'm sorry I'm late" he said quickly. They were almost at her last classroom.
