Reunited

chapter 19

Grayson talked to their dad privately about what had happened in the car park. He expressed how Ares and Aria needed to know they were twins, and Xander needed to know he had a sister.

Daniel and Jessica were going to sit the twins down and tell them this weekend, they were unsure whether to do it with both children together.

Daniel wanted to tell them seperately as he knew Ares would be hurt that he never got told and Aria might loose all trust for them or worse, fear them.

Jess wanted to tell them together as they were her twins.

"I'm her brother and that sick bastard had the nerve to call her his sister" Grayson snapped.

"Yes I agree he is a awful person but he may not know she's not his sister" Daniel was oddly calm however Grayson was used to it. Daniel hoped he could put Luke in prison. His actions were wrong but he couldn't fault the boy for thinking she was his sister if he didn't know.

"Fine. I'm going to get Ari" Grayson was sticking with the nickname and Daniel quickly picked up on it.

He didn't comment, he just smiled as he watched his eldest son walk out of the office to find Aria.

Grayson found Ares who told him Aria wanted a nap so grayson headed to her room. He knocked, there wasn't a response, he figured she was sleeping but just in case, he opened the door to check. At first he almost panicked when he saw her empty bed but noticed her by the mirror she was staring at her ribs, her top pulled up slightly which was just enough so Grayson could see her stomach and ribs.
The fact he could see her ribs pissed him off but the fresh bruises, the scars and burns pissed him off more.

"Hey Ari" she jumped knost as if she was in a trance before."I did knock just wanted to make sure you were in the room as there was no answer" he said.

"It's nothing. It doesn't hurt" she quickly said knowing he had seen the marks.

"It isnt nothing Aria. You don't deserve a single scar"  Grayson said.

"I know your dad has to know for the case but please don't tell Ares" she said.

"Why not" Grayson wouldn't tell him but he was curious as to why she didn't want Ares finding out.

"I just dont want him to know how bad it was" she whispered .

Grayson saw she was about to cry and decided to hug her. He was suprised when she hugged back.

"What if your dad can't do anything. You heard them today, I have to go back at some point"

"Aria you are never setting foot in that house again. That's a promise. Dad will win. There's plenty of evidence"

"But what if" she tried, she didn't realise how powerful the family actually was.

"Aria you are not going back to them, that is a guarantee" he stated in a tone that held some authority.

"You can't guarantee something like that. What if they decide to skip town right now. They could take me"

Hearing that made Grayson angry, not at Aria but at the fact she had been taken probably by then before.

"Dad has custody whilst the case is being dealt with"

"Temporary custody that can be taken by social workers at any time if they see fit, then I'll be in the system, then they could get me" 

"I'll just have to kidnap you back and stash you in my home. I'll make sure no one will take you away" Grayson said with a smile like it was the most obvious anwser.
