Connor opened his mouth to ask more of Alpha Monroe's daughter, but before could even speak Jake burst into the room looking panicked. "Alpha! It's Cadence! Something wrong!"

Connor was out of his seat and out the door in seconds. He followed Jake to the pack hospital and the moment he walked in he could see Dr. Lee attending to Cadence. His first time seeing her in days and she was pale and deathly still. "What happened?" Connor asked.

The poor doctor could only bow his head. "I'm sorry Alpha. I don't know what happened. Physically she seems well. There isn't anything wrong." The doctor seemed confused.

Connor was about to asked more questions when he heard someone's quick intake of breath from behind him. Turning he seen Alpha Monroe, his eyes were wide and Connor thought he seen a light sheen of tears in the older mans eyes. "Cadence.." Alpha Monroe moved closer and grabbed hold of Cadence hand.

Connor had no doubt now that his Cadence was the very same as John's daughter. "Alpha Monroe..." Connor finally noticed the rough looking man who had apparently been standing in the corner. "I am sorry, she was so stubborn..." The man trailed off.

"What happened?" Alpha Monroedemanded, moving closer to the man Connor still didn't know, but soon realized must be Mac.

"Cadence had told me after found her that it was she who helped the Slade pup. I was bringing her back, but she stopped, demanding an explanation so- I told her." Mac face filled with guilt. "I don't know what happened Alpha. She was standing there and the next she was screaming and clutching her head.. Then she collapsed."

Everyone was at a loss, except for Dr. Lee. "I see. Your daughter. I was told by Isabeth that your daughter has memory loss. Is that true?"

Alpha Monroe nodded, his face full of worry as he looked at his daughter. "Then I believe while she was bring told information it was simply too much for her. Her mind racked and fought itself as it tried to remember whatever was told to her." The doctor sighed, "there isn't anything that we can do. It is up to her. Whenever her mind is willing to accept it, then she will wake up. Until then we can only sit and watch over her." Dr. Lee didn't wait for questions, but turned to resume his rounds.

"I'm sorry Alpha. That is one of the things that hasn't changed. Cadence is still as stubborn as ever. But, we have more problems. As I was searching for Cadence I heard talk amongst the rogues of her saving the Slade pup. They want her blood.." Mac prepared for his Alpha's anger, but wasn't expecting Connor's.

Connor grabbed Mac by the shirt and lifted him from the ground. "Why didn't you stay with her? Do you realize what she went through while she was saving the 'Slade pup' who happens to be my brother? She was attacked by rogues and because she was labeled a rogue she was then attacked and nearly killed by my beta!" Connor knew deep down that they had done what they thought was right, but it wasn't good enough.

Mac raised his brow, staring at the young man that presently help him up. "You must be Alpha Connor. You have grown since the time I last saw you. I can see now why Cadence wished to avoid you." Mac knew he was riling the young Alpha up, but he had a great respect for Cadence and felt like a second father to her. He had to be sure.

Connor growled loudly, his hand closed with satisfaction around Mac's throat. "She didn't run from me, I let her go."

Mac smiled crookedly, gasping as he spoke. "Are you sure you let her go? You seemed and looked very worried about a rouge wolf.."

"She isn't a rogue!" Connor growled.

"But to didn't know that, did you? Yet you still came running the moment your beta told you the news..."

Connor realized what Mac was saying and dropped Mac without thought. The man fell to his knee's gasping. "Welcome to the Slade pack." Connor nodded to Alpha Monroe as he walked out of the hospital.

John watched amused as Connor left the building. "Did he pass your test?" John turned to Mac who was picking himself off the floor.

Mac grinned and adjusted his now  stretched shirt. "He has grown into a fine Alpha. Well controlled, but- not controlled enough that I didn't see his deep concern for Cadence. He loves her whether he has realized it himself or not."

John nodded, agreeing. He wouldn't have attacked Mac for his words if Connor didn't care. "He still has to pass mine if he wishes to claim her." John said even more amused.

Mac shook his head, he hoped that Connor passed because even though Cadence couldn't remember it yet she has always been in love with the young Alpha.
