Chapter 5- The date

"I'm gonna kill him" I grumbled. I glanced at the clock on the bedside table .
"Seriously??" I asked myself .It was sharp 12 - midnight .
I had been sleeping like a log until my phone had beeped loudly , making me curse my oversensitive ears .

And when I had groped my phone and looked at the screen, I made up my mind to kill him.
I pressed the green button and placed the phone on the pillow since I was too lazy to even hold it .
"Hello?"
" I hate you Ryan "I spoke a little too loud .
" That's not a nice way of greeting me " he said but his tone said it all. He was enjoying this .
"Get to the point .Why call at this time ? What do you want ?"
"I would love to get a thousand things from you but right now I called to remind you something. "
"And that is?"
"Today is Friday .The 21st of December."
"Is the date that important for you to wake me up at midnight and inform ?is the world coming to an end?"I asked .He was definitely setting me to topsy-turvy.
" Nope. Its much more than just that ." I groaned .
"Not in the mood to play games here Ryan .I'm going to back to sleep -"
" Hold on. " He called out ." You promised me a date remember? "I lifted my head of the pillow blinking . "Of course I do remember that ."
"I didn't call just to remind you Leah "He was chuckling now. Great .
" Then? " I prompted leaning on my elbows and sitting straight .I placed the phone close to my ears just in case I heard him wrong .But of course I wasn't .
"I called to pick my date in another ....um five minutes?"
"Whoa... Ryan .You expect me to go out with you at midnight ? Can't it wait till morning ."
This was downright ridiculous .
"I have not much time "
"How the hell am I gonna reach you in five minutes? Your miles away .Trust me my car doesn't-"
"Not miles" he said cutting me off .Was he smirking?
"Just walk till your door " he said and I heard the door bell ring and echo around me.
"What the -" I squeaked loudly almost dropping the phone.
I pulled the covers off me and jumped down the bed .While bustling out to the living room , I knocked over a pile of books and CD's but I didn't give a damn thought about it .

I reached the window by the door and tugged the curtain to see his perfect silhouette.
"You gotta be kidding me " I whispered .
"Don't make me wait " he replied and cut the call.
I walked to the door and threw it open. There he stood tall and handsome with smirk on his face. He wore dark blue blazer on a band T-shirt and black jeans .I had to admit - he did look cool .

His eyes roamed over me and I felt goosebumps on my arms. I mentally slapped myself for not giving a thought about my attire before I threw the door open .
I wore nothing but a loose grey tank top with dark shorts .I ran my fingers over my hair and realized I was too late .

" Aren't you gonna invite me in ?" He asked smiling down at me .His gorgeous green eyes looked almost black in the dark. I blinked and opened the door wider to let him in .

He walked silently beside me in the living room and then went to rest on the couch while I excused myself to dress up .

I don't think I had an option of declining anymore. After a quick shower , I rummaged my Wardrobe to wear the right dress for a date .I wasn't happy with most of it and mentally noted to get Chloe's help with shopping later.

I chose a pale pink turtle neck top and a dark tights. I wrapped a shawl around my neck , took my handbag grabbed my phone and made my way down the stairs.

"Where are we going ?" I demanded but immediately placed my palm over my mouth when I saw he was in the phone .
" Thanks man" he was saying .
"Yea. that's right . Fine .See you later then ." He turned to me
"Let's go?"
I rolled my eyes ." Do I have a choice here ?"
I locked to door behind me and followed him to his car .
"Do you always roam around and go on dates at midnight ?"
"Just with friends .My dates are usually scheduled during the day .
Luke had called to inform that he had planned to throw a party for me tonight .We should be back before nightfall."
I raised my eyebrows baffled .
" What's so special about today ?"
I walked around the car and got into the passenger seat .
He gave me a grin before replying .
"I turned 22 today ."
I gaped at him .His grin widened .
"You assumed it was not right to apprise me about this mutt?"
I asked punching his shoulder.
"Ouch .That hurt ." He whined rubbing the spot .
" Thought I would earn a hug but of course you always prove me wrong "
He muttered shaking his head .
